Ed Miliband is a prime ministerial candidate who wants to rule England like the a PM.

He is not David Cameron who is the PM of England and has a coalition with The Liberals making it a split Government.

Who will win in the Elections?

If you are from England who are you voting for?

If the Labour win then the Conservatives will be out and so will the Liberals this will mean that England will be more collectivist in principle and less individualistic.

This makes sense as I heard that the last government was for business and that I am told is good for an economy?

To be honest the only things I am really concerned now with UK politics is defence, foreign affairs and benefits as I live in Scotland where a chunk of powers have devolved. I am not a supporter for either of the main three parties and I can't vote as I am not old enough. I will be voting for the Scottish election next year and it will most likely be SNP. I reckon the election will be another coalition but which two parties is what I am debating on.

Totts : Judging by your picture you would certainly favor Conservatives.

Unfortunately, neither the Conservatives nor the Labor are ready to redress the finances as Thatcher did in the 1980s. According to trading economics, the debt ratio has constantly increases since 2008, although spending ratios have been slowly but steadily decreasing.
Nevertheless, from what I heard you National Health Service keeps chewing away a great deal of the budget just like most other industrialized countries. Unless you incorporate some for of privatization your government will soon become a Health Ministry... Also, I read many horror stories about the true cost of wind mills and it's not pretty...

The spirit of the working man died after the miners strike in England. After that it has made no difference in either way.

Brigand : the spirit of the working man? What does it even mean?

The UK, once the mightiest country on Earth, was nearing default, having required a loan from the IMF or a similar organization in the 1970s. There WAS a need for serious reformation as the state was choking the economy and rendering inefficient. Without Thatcher, the UK would surely have become Greece.

janus :

There is somebody who will turn the cog so you can have  life you are accustomed to. Tacher wanted stuff like the poll tax, which was basically just a tax for the poor. And it was people like her basically who created this thing in Greece now. Rich people created a bubble and when push came to shove, they took their money and left somewhere nice and fancy where there aint no real taxation issues for them. So don't you dare say tacherism did anything good for anybody unless you are a privileged donkeyhole.

Brigand: Oh, I'm not saying she is a goddess - nominal spending never decreased during her reign. Poll taxes are a terrible idea and are highly regressive.

However, bubbles are the SOLE creation of central banks when they artificially decrease interest rates to discourage savings and encourage consumption.

Nevertheless, having
less state IS beneficial as government officials are poor administrators with others' money. Don't tell me that British Airways offered better quality and price when it was public.

I'm from Northern Ireland which is part of the United Kingdom, so the General Election next month will affect me just as much as it will England. I'm not of age yet to vote and I couldn't vote for any of the main parties - Labour Party,  Scottish Nationalist Party(SNP), Lib-Dems, Green Party, or the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP). I could vote Conservative which is headed by current Prime Minister David Cameron as they're standing in Northern Ireland this election. However I would rather vote for a dead rat than vote for the Conservatives. It is true that Cameron has greatly improved the economy of the United Kingdom, but he was achieved this on the backs of the working and middle class people. Public services have been cut to bone with the current government (now dissolved for the GE), the National Health Service has went backwards on Cameron's watch due to its lack of funding. He was deceitful during the last election and I wouldn't trust him now. As for Ed Milliband, the leader of the Labour Party (left-wing), I would be voting for him this election if I could, although I don't believe he is tough enough to be Prime Minister. He has pledged to fuel the NHS, providing more doctors, nurses and midwives which is desperately needed, he has pledged to ban zero-hours contracts which currently provide instability for working families like mine, and he has pledged less cuts than the Tories. He will also increase taxes for the top 1% which is desperately needed as they have had enough tax relief under Cameron. I would never vote for Nigel Farage (UKIP) due to the fact he has absolutely no clue what he is talking about. He blames every problem on immigrants who come to the UK to escape deprivation and to seek work.

It is likely that Ed Milliband will now be the next Prime Minister of the UK due to the proposed backing of the SNP, although it is possible for David Cameron to serve a second term with a minority government or a coalition with UKIP, Democratic Unionist Party and Liberal Democrats or some sort of shabby government formation, either way it will be a weak government if it does occur and will likely collapse after a few months.

Go Ed.
