What are Steam gems for? I know that once you get a certain amount of gems, you can get a booster pack for a game, but is that the only use that they have at the moment? Can they be used for anything else or are booster packs and selling the only thing they are for?

You might want to rethink that, 1000 gems goes for about $0.70 on the market. Giving 7000 Viz for 1.3k gems is kind of a rip off. I doubt earthwarrior had any bad intentions, but I thought I should let you know, zanderlex:

I win, the last Templar for 2.500 gems, zoo park for 600 gems, kotor 1 and kotor 2 = 12k each... and 5-6 more games xD.

games are around 500-30.000 gems and I don't know if they do it again, I have 0 gems atm, but if they do this again... I love auctions!!! xD
