I'll start out truthfully, I suck at Mortal Kombat 3 Ultimate. Let's be a bit more broad, I suck at ANY retro Mortal Kombat game. The newer ones, I can move around my opponent, making it easier, but the originals, I just can't win. It doesn't even tell me the moves list, whenever I find one, it tells me stuff like "LP" or "HP" and I know there are no LP or HP buttons on a Genesis, I still own a working Genesis. Any help? Thanks.

I can't help with any fighter as far as advice goes, but I can tell you that LP means Low Punch, and HP is High Punch, while Lk and HK mean Low Kick and High Kick respectively. So just figure out which button that corresponds to either by testing the buttons or looking in the configuration menus.

You may also encounter WP and SP for Weak and Strong Punch in guides for some games.
