Not sure who here will know the person I am talking about, but I thought I might share this with you all.

Monty Oum is an amazingly talented animator, story writer (amung many other things, see his IMDB profile for more) who has worked at RoosterTeeth since about 2009. He has worked as a director, writer and animator for Red vs. Blue and is the original creator of their new series, RWBY.

3 days ago Burnie Burns posted a journal article on roosterteeth.com titled Monty Oum hospitalized. They did not mention what had happened, but they did however link to a gofundme campaign. It managed to raise the full $50,000 within 3 hours and currently the campaign is sitting at $209,000.

Matt had posted a new story. Monty Oum has passed away.
It appears that 10 days ago during a simple medical procedure Monty had a severe allergic reaction which had left him in a coma. He passed away Feburary 1st at 4:34 PM.

Today they held a special live podcast in memory of Monty and shared all their great stories of him. They also played a tribute video at the end of the stream which when released again I'll post here.

Wow. I mean, I heard about this and who he was, but not what he did. I didn't know that he worked on RvB. I love that show. It's hilarious. And then RWBY? My friend watches that, so I have been meaning to get into it. It's really sad. I'd like that tribute video you mentioned... be sure to summon me when it gets released and you put it on here, alright?
