So just out of curiosity... Who here plays MTG?... I personally love the game... The video games they came out with for it weren't that great and left a good amount to be desired but the original card game? doesn't get any better than that!... I play with my fiance and my brother in law all the time it's amazing... Most modern TCG's are actually based off of Magic... Been playing since i was in 4th grade and still going strong!... Let's hear your opinions on the matter ... If anyone plays i would like to know what type of decks you run and maybe we can talk about strategies and stuff...

I know how to play, but I don't really like MTG.
I never was interested in it very much, especially after finding out that older sets arn't even legal to play with.
The artwork could be better in my opinion as well.
I know that's not really the point, but still.

Yeah i know what you mean with the artwork but if you find the right cards they are pretty beast... As for the law against using older sets that does suck yes but the new cards are alot of fun to play with as well and i generally use the older sets for casual play with my family and friends... It's not for everyone though it can be pretty hard to get into...

Well i guess you would start off by reading the new rules set and getting new cards and making decks to fit your style... What color(s) would be your preference? Is there a certain type of deck you would like to run? (ie. counters, elves, vampires, buffer, etc)... If you want help at all with any of that i can try my best...

I played back when it was Fourth Edition and Ice Age. The deck I liked the best was a blue green. Instants and counter spells were my mastery. Never played in a competition, though, I wanted to, just stuck to casual dominance. I guess the rarest card that I own (don't know if it's worth money) would be a fourth edition Shivan Dragon.

I still play Magic with my friends, although not as much as we used to, and we still use our old illegal sets in casual play against each other all the time. My favorite deck that I built was a sliver deck, I absolutely love slivers.

I always thought it was kind of cool and a fun idea, but I never really got into it, or bought any cards. The problem I have with any card games is that you have to spend a lot of money and have a lot of luck to get good cards, both which I am lacking.
