Beware of many spoilers, if I remember a scene from when I saw the movie, I will probably go over it.

Unbroken was really just a spectacular movie, and I just can't believe that everything that took place in the movie had actually happened many years ago. When I first saw the trailers maybe during the summer I had told myself that this could be a movie that I would like to see but I never brought myself around to see it. I saw many movies since it came out but I just never really went to see this until I finally went on Sunday and I don't understand why I didn't go any earlier.

This is only the third movie I have seen this year but it is by far the best of them and I fully expect this movie to be one of the top 10 movies that I see all year, if not the top 5. The acting was brilliant and SI were the graphics, and then you have actual story which is just beyond remarkable.

All I'm going to say now is that the movie is about an American Solider who becomes a prisoner at a Japanese war camp, and that you should only keep reading if you are okay with a bunch of spoilers.

The movie starts off with the main character Louie in an aircraft attempting to attack an island while also trying to be avoid being hit themselves. In the end after a bunch of really cool flying scenes, they manage to escape and land the plane with lot of damage and injuries. During the first few parts of the movie, there's a bunch of flashbacks of Louie when was younger. He always used to run and he got noticed by somebody who runs for the track team and he trains him and gets him to join the team. Eventually, Louie joins the Olympic team and had a spectacular performance running.

After the plane is landed, they are immediately sent out on a rescue mission in the middle of the ocean with the same plane that has not been repaired, so about halfway through, they end up crashing into the ocean and Louie, along with two of the other crew members are the only ones to survive in two lifeboats that they tie together. The scenes in the ocean are my favorite because so much happens during these scenes. They are trapped for almost two months and every dangerous thing you can think of happens. They are shot at by a Japanese plane, they are surrounded by sharks, they get trapped in the middle of fierce storms, and they have no food aside for what they catch, whether it be bird or fish. There was one scene during the storm where I could have sworn the second lifeboat broke off and drifted away but when the storm passed it was still tied to them. After about a month or so, one of the other members died so it was just Louie and another until they were "rescued" by Japanese and sent to camps.

All of the scenes that take place at the camp are just so dramatic and terribly sad to me and that made the movie epic. The leader of the camp made sure to make his life hell until he was promoted and left the camp. Later On, it looks as though the Americans have found this camp and started attacking, but everybody was moved out to another camp that just so happened to be run by the leader of the old camp. In some of the posters for the movie you can see a picture of Louie holding up a giant beam, and this happened at this second camp and could easily be the saddest scene of the entire movie because of what he had gone through and what he proved.
There was one scene towards the end where it was kind of implies that the Japanese were going to kill all of them which I didn't really understand, but at that moment, american plan spotted them and they were saved. There was one other scene that had a big impact on the events and took place while he was at the first camp. The Japanese had him broadcast himself ln the radio so America would know that he was alive. I don't really understand what happened here, but he was taken to a place where he was in a real building like place, not at the camp with real food and everything and he was told he could live there if he made another broadcast that I guess made America sound bad. He refused to do that and was sent back to the camp.

I can't really say much about the actors because I didn't recognize a single person, but they have all done a great job with their roles. All of the scenes were just perfect and wonderful to watch, everything was beautiful and the dialogue was just riveting.

The music of the movie was just spectacular and was composed by Alexandre Desplat, who is kind of really famous for his music and up until this year has been nominates 6 times for Best Original Score at the Academy Awards, for movies such as Argo and The Curious Case of Benjamin Burton, but he never won. For the 2015 Academy Awards, he was actually nominated for two different movies, though not this one since it came out only a week before the year ended and I think that he could have came very close to winning if it was nominated because he had done a great job with the soundtrack. He is able to really bring out the feel of the movie and emphasize it and there were a few scenes where I really likes what he had done.

The last thing there is to talk about is the graphics and effects. First off there's the plane fight at the beginning and it looked like it was real. Not only did it look like it was real, but of looked historically correct, like it was actually the early 1900's and it looked beautiful. All of the scenes where they were in the ocean trapped just looked spectacular and so believable and then all of the scenes that took place in the camps were so full of detail and made the movie so much better. With this movie, its the story and acting that makes the movie so beautiful, and maybe even the music at times, but the graphics can be just as beautiful at times as well.
Overall, i really suggest you see this movie because its so good. If you like a good story, you will love this. Even if you don't like these kinds of movies, then I still suggest that you see it because you may like it anyway. I mentioned earlier that this could easily become one of the best movies that I see in all of 2015, and that's true, but its actually already the greatest based on a real event movie that I have ever seen and I loved it, a real grade A movie experience.
