I have tried downloading two games for the PSX system over the course of the week and they don't seem to be loading up at all. They load up fine up to a given percentile, but then it resets itself and tries again. This never happened before, I was wondering if anyone else had experienced the issue and what can be done to resolve it.

I have the latest RGR Plugin and the Playstation Item.

A few questions to help figure out your problem:

1. Have you been able to play PSone games in the past? Or are these two games the first two you have tried?

2. Are you getting an error message of any sort?


4. Are you trying to play these games via WiFi or directly connected to your router? Sometimes since these games are so large, the plugin will time out if your connection is taking too long to DL the file.

5. Which version of windows are you running? What are the specs of your PC?

Yes this has happened to me too. I can play war craft 2 but the sound is bad so I turn it off in options. I tried to play other PlayStation games but they were very slow with bad sound or reset itself like you say or got stuck. I did not post about it in forum because I thought maybe it was problem with my computers. Thank you for posting about it and now I know is not just me.

1) Yes I have been able to play the PSX games in the past and they have worked flawlessly.

2) No, no error message, it just goes back to 0%, restarts, then freezes up

3) The RGR plugin doesn't seem to be an issue, I have the most recent version

4) As I said, this didn't happen before on any other PSX game, so why it's doing this now I do not know.

5) I run a Windows 7 Desktop PC, the specs of my computer I'm not too sure on, but the games worked fine before as I said.

Mimerio : Sorry I was having internet issues and question 3 was somehow deleted/confusing.

I was going to ask if you have had tried a different browser to see if you get different results.

If you have played PsOne games on this computer before without issue, the problem might be those specific isofiles/games. Which specific two are you having an issue with?

Killian: Your problem sounds like an issue with your computer having a hard time running PsOne games. They surprisingly take a lot of PC resources to run lag-free. So if you are trying to run them on a slower computer, you will get the issues you described.

Ah my apologies - I haven't tried on a different browser actually, I may give it a go, will have to download a new browser as I don't trust IE.

and finally the two games I tried to download were

Bugs Bunny - Lost in Time
and
Disney's Dinosaur.

Mimerio : Ok. I will try those two games and see if I have those same issues. Also, Chrome and Firefox seem to work best with the plugin.

I have been playing these on my mom's laptop with a ps3 controller because my laptop is a lot smaller. I do use mine sometimes. It is only PlayStation games that give me problems. Thanks for your reply.

I have been using Chrome for a while and this is the browser I have been playing Vizzed games on forever.

I am downloading Firefox myself to see if I get an error, will report back to you once I have tried it out.

EDIT: The same issue happens, I still own the Playstation item in my inventory, so I can't see what the issue could be.

Mimerio : No problem at all.

Both games seems to download and load quite quickly actually, so no issue with the file itself. I had them both running within 1 min of starting the plugin.

I tested using Chrome on my win8 desktop. The issue is something on your end. Maybe a security setting, anti-virus or router update. You could try by first disabling anti-virus for a short while to see if you can download the game.

The next suggestion I would give is to try to directly connect to your modem/router if you haven't already. The download could be timing out because it's taking too long.

You could also navigate to the vizzed directory on your Hard drive. See if those two iso files are present in the playstation folder, and delete them (if they exist) This is something you should try last.

So are you able to play other PsOne games at this point, or are none of them working? I'm kinda figuring if you have this problem with those two, you are having it with all.

I can play games I have previously downloaded for the PSX system just fine as I have just tried playing "Digimon World 3" with no issue whatsoever.

I don't believe my router needs updating, or anti-virus needs checking as these have been the same ever since I started using vizzed.

Mimerio : Well something has changed on your computer between when you could download the games, and when you couldn't. The reason you can play the games you already purchased is because they are stored on your Hard drive directly.

I'm not saying you need to update your router, I'm saying that if your connection via Wifi is slower for whatever reason, that could be causing a time-out issue because it's taking too long for your computer to DL the file.

I tested both games you referred to and they worked without issue, and nothing has changed on Vizzed's side, so the problem is certainly something being caused from your environment. What I gave are just suggestions on things to look into.

Jordanv78 : Could bad weather be an issue for this? As recently we've had rather bad weather in my area causing the internet to be rather slow / unresponsive

Mimerio : I suppose it could be possible. The server itself might be a little slow as well and since you are from Europe that could cause further issues.

You could do a speed test to see if for whatever reason your bandwidth has dropped. Other than that, I'm kinda out of ideas besides what I have already suggested.
