I'm sure you've all heard of the term "hidden gems." If you haven't, I'll tell you. Hidden gems are games that are very good but go unheard of. EarthBound is a great example. EarthBound was almost unheard of until Ness was in Super Smash Bros. Before the release of Super Smash Bros., EarthBound could be classed as a hidden gem. Share any great unknown games here in this thread! Here are some great games I can recommend:

Star Wars Bounty Hunter - One of my favorite video games of all time. This shooter, mixed with a little platforming in some levels, provides a very fun challenge. Go through big levels and try to find bounties and complete missions. You have a jetpack that adds a lot of depth to the game. I recommend it to people who like unrealistic, fast-paced 3rd-person shooters.

Metal Arms - Also a shooter. The controls are a bit funky, but it's fun nonetheless. This is a humorous shooter where you play as a robot. There's a lot of weapons and upgrades to get. I recommend this for the same reasons I recommend Star Wars Bounty Hunter.

Here are a few I think deserve a try:

Dark Arms - Beast Buster. It's a very dark rpg/shooter blend that allows you to level up your weapins and add different elemental powers to them depending on what types of monsters/ghosts/etc. you currently have captured. Furthermore, each weapon can be "evolved" into multiple types of weapons, making for something of a miniature skill tree for weapons. It's on the NeoGeo Pocket Color. It alone is enough to justify it's system's existence.

Survival Kids (GBC) : A truly wonderful game for logic puzzle fans. It places you in the role of a young boy/girl stranded on an island. You start off with nothing useful, and have to find a way to gather food, forge items such as knives torches and bows with items that you find (rocks, sticks, vines, etc). If you're good enough you'll soon be building traps to catch food, using homemade fishing poles, cooking food at campfires you make, building rafts, and much more. Again, this game alone justifies the very existence of it's system.

The Grinch (GBC) : I don't know that it's a gem exactly, but The Grinch is certainly one of the better titles I've found for the GBC. If you like puzzle games that have you gathering collectibles while avoiding enemies pac-man style, The Grinch is definitely worth a look.

The Percussor (Arcade/MAME) : This one is an old school flying shooter. The goal is to destroy all of a certain type of ground target (not sure what they are) while avoiding running out of fuel or being shot down. This is a really good little game if you enjoy the old games from the Atari 2600 days. I like it even though I probably don't like most games I've played from back then. lol

This is a really good thread. I hope it stays active for a while, because I'd love to find more game suggestions, plus I have more hidden gems I'd like to share sometime without making a 3,000 word post. xD

I have a perfect game for this thread, and I'm sure
Jordanv78 :
would agree with me on this.

This game is for the NES, so for anybody that sees this, PLEASE give this game a try. And this game is called Clash at Demonhead. It almost never gets even mentioned anymore, and I think it deserves to be. The animation is really well done, and the story is over-the-top. Although its not really as "deep" as most Zelda and Mario games, it still keeps your attention. My personal favorite part of this game is you can never fall down a cliff or ledge and just die, like in Mario. If you fall, you fall into an underworld filled with enemies.

I don't really want to go too deep into the game, because I would like people to try it for themselves. Please do not hesitate to give this "hidden gem" a try, and feel free to let me know what you think.
