There's nothing wrong with not being into Christmas. It's not a mandatory or obligatory thing, and there are millions of people who don't even celebrate it or bat an eye at it.  You shouldn't feel bad, or feel like you have to fake enjoyment during the holidays.  Let them be something that comes and goes, instead of something you dread because you feel like the oddball.

I love Christmas, and I think you're missing out on a lot of great spirit by not getting into it, but you're certainly old enough to stand your own ground and have your own opinions. Be you, and don't let those around you dictate your feelings for the holidays.

(Now birthdays, I agree about. I could care less about my own. The fact that I will be THAT much close to 30 this May... oye!  Give me some time back! There's too much I want to do!   )

badnaruto90 : OK first things first. No matter What anyone has to Say about it. This decision of if you are wrong or right is up you YOU in the End.

However, I will Break It down into a few points.

First: The "Spirit of Christmas" Is not Wanting something for yourself Its more about making others Happy Mainly the Children. not about getting or giving gifts (although the children would love the gifts). It more about Togetherness. Had you gone And just been there, they would have enjoyed the fact that you went out of your way to show up. You may have even had fun.

Second: People use any Holiday(i.e. Christmas, Birthdays, Baby Showers, Easter, Thanksgiving, New years, Etc.) as an excuse to gather with others to share with each other and enjoy themselves. Humans are social Creatures. This site (Vizzed) in itself Is a social Outlet(The boards at least). And once Again they Went And you Didn't. So they may just want to tell you who got what, or who did what. But when they Go to tell you the thought could be Crossing their mind that [You didn't go = You don't care]. So they stop themselves instead. Those looks you saw may have been that they wanted to share their experience with you but couldn't find the words to express what you missed without making you feel bad. So instead You get the look, the look of them not being able to share in (what they feel was) their joyous experience.

Third: If they Have not Said Anything Outright that Shows the either Respect or Don't care about what you choose to do. In their eyes "Its up to you what you do" or "Its your Loss"

Fourth: They wished you were there and/or Missed you.

Fifth: You are not getting any particular look. You (on a subconscious level) Feel bad that you didn't go. And are seeing this look because you think they do too.

Just a few of the possibilities And All of them Are MY personal OPINION and not to be Taken As fact.
I do not know know your Family nor Claim to, but maybe this will help you to understand Why you are Getting this look

badnaruto90 :  Oh, I wouldn't say that anyone here can tell you if you're wrong or not on your feelings about Christmas.  The fact is, with all the shopping, wrapping and travelling involved, Christmas can be a real pain.  I'm not sure what your family situation is, but a lot of people have divorced parents, rifts or troubled history, family that live all over the place and all kinds of other things that make it a bit taxing.  I personally have a lot of travelling, going from house to house, lugging gifts around, etc. that just make it a real pain.

Even so, if you consider the spirit of Christmas and what it should be about, giving and togetherness, goodwill, etc. it's not about making yourself happy, but others.  I go through all the stuff I don't like about the holiday and making my rounds because I care about my family and friends and want to see them and be together on a day that's supposed to be special.  If nothing else, it could be considered an exercise in sacrifice and selflessness.  It's a virtue and a mark of a strong individual if you can sacrifice for others and feel happiness when seeing them happy.

I hope your Christmas went well.  I know mine had its trials, inconveniences and of course, even a little family drama-but I am overall glad I made the time to be together with my family and felt thankful that I have them.  Well, a happy Holiday Season to you, and don't feel bad about not being excited about Christmas.  Just look at it as a family obligation that you lovingly oblige if nothing else.
