I remember a few years ago when Yu-Gi-Oh was becoming pretty popular and I was really getting into it. I loved asking my parents to buy me some packs of cards whenever we went to Walmart or someplace like that. But then, one day, I went to a festival that was happening in a nearby town. It was a small town, but they had some nice festivities. However, one of the things I liked about it the most was one of the vendors. They didn't sell food or any of the usual stuff - they sold toys, cards, and other miscellaneous things. I remember seeing an odd package of Yu-Gi-Oh cards before and thinking, "Wow! It must be a new pack!" (I was only 9 or 10 years old at the time.) I asked my parents to buy some packs for me and they did. Then I opened the package and was disappointed. It was obvious that the cards were fake and I couldn't use them in any of my decks. But instead of throwing them away, I kept them. But it wasn't until later that I realized that they were horribly (and hilariously) mistranslated. Here's an example of the kind of "bad" translation I'm talking about (any misspellings of words or any odd wordings are actually on the card itself):
The original card in Yu-Gi-Oh! is "Lava Golem". This fake card's name is "Rock Corrosion Devil-Love Fake". It's attribute is "Heat" (which isn't right, needless to say) and it's type is a "Fighter.Effect" (also not right). It's description is, exactly: "While calling monster, only present 2 cards of monster in the field to activate the call.At the calling stage, the controller will be boosted in the offensive by 1000 points,While for special call, this turn does not work in common call."
Not only does this not make sense (and it has no spacing between punctuation marks), but all of what I gathered from that isn't even close to right to the actual Lava Golem's ability. But you have to admit, it's name and description is pretty fun to read. I actually have quite a few of these cards; some are funnier than others (this one, surprisingly, spelled all of the words right; a lot of them have typos).
So what about you? Do you have any of these cards, or other knock-offs? Do you have any in particular that you think are especially funny or bad?
