As I'm sure some of you know, there's a band called the Black Mages. They recreate music from the Final Fantasy games. Nobou Uematsu (musical composer for FF I-X and did some work in XII) got together a band to redo the music of FF. Now you have the Black Mages. They redo the songs from FF with a rock undertone. So, the songs are more rocking than before.

What do you guys think about the Black Mages?

well, it honestly helps if you play the game. Otherwise most video game music doesn't feel very epic.

I can't listen to a song from a game I've never played and feel the epicness of it. It helps having played the game and investing in the characters and the battles and such.
