I'm aware that a great percentage of Vizzed users are from the US. But I don't think this fact allows for this forum to be only focused in US-based sports. There are a bunch of games played on a worldwide basis, and their highest levels of competition transcend continents. In an effort to somehow "revive" this forum, and to catch attention from users no matter where are they from, I present you a project I came up with in recent weeks.

Said project revolves around seasonal reports of the aforementioned intercontinental sports. For example, I follow closely Formula 1, Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing and Tennis. These three sports have venues in my city, which I attend whenever I can, and also have venues in the US, more specifically America as a whole, and also Asia and Australia, besides the rest of Europe, of course.

A sport of this magnitude, which gathers fans from all over the world, is what we need in this forum. And loyal followers of those sports, like myself, will gladly report any events no matter where they're being held. Also, this can also help people to follow a sport they didn't hear much about before, or even encourage them to attend an event happening in their hometowns, or at least close to them.

Although my project involves reports for the full season, I was thinking that a little test to see how many followers those sports have in Vizzed wouldn't be bad either, and the US events are the best test. What do you think of my project? Should I go ahead with it, or maybe I should do the test first? Any opinion is welcome.

I don't think you'll get much support from anyone and interest will be passing at best.  I've been here a few years and the main interest of most Vizzed users falls under NFL and wrestling.  There's almost no current discussion about auto racing and I don't think I've ever seen a tennis thread or any serious comments about the sport.

Of course, someone will drag up some thread like "Do you play tennis?" with four responses and show me I'm wrong but there's no lasting conversation about any of the sports you're discussion.

You can try and I encourage you to build a nice little following for discussion.  It's fun.  But doing that for niche sports on a video game website is going to really limit the number of people who talk it out.

I know I wouldn't participate.  I can't name any drivers, I can name only a few famous tennis players, and I neither watch or read anything about those sports.

I hate to shoot it down but I'm being realistic for you.  I don't think you have a chance to get anything like this off the ground.

warmaker : Honestly talking, I never expected to have a great number of followers, and the creation of this thread reflects how I didn't have enough confidence in its success so as to start it off without saying anything previously.

I will still try it, even if it means only the US events. If no one reads them, then no one will know I failed. As you said, I only need a few people to follow this, that's what inspires me.

Also, I don't want to make a lasting discussion. It's not talking about whoever is the best. The project was to create a thread whenever an event was about to happen, and just talk about it for the week it lasts (in tennis) or the weekend it is held (formula one and motorcycle racing)

EX Palen : No one will know you failed?

The worst thing you can think of is hoping no one knows you fail.  This is a much bigger conversation and I'm not going to clog up this thread to discuss it but take some credit and attack things.  Go out and execute and work at making threads and discussions even if they don't work.  You learn a lot more when things go wrong.  You can look at successful discussion threads and compare them to yours.  You can improve because you didn't do things correctly.
When everything goes right, you have no idea why it worked.  That's the scary part.  Failure is easy.  it's a training tool.

Write your threads.  Let's see what happens.
