Do you remember the first thing you bought on your own when you went out totally by yourself for the first time?

I remember going out and coming back with a small pack of vegetables for my mom to cook for us.

When I think of this memory now today I start to feel really sad and remember it like it was yesterday.

My first real purchase was a laptop bag from a store in Barcelona in 2009. It was pretty major for me, since all of my other purchases up to that point were trinket items like candy bars and whatnot.

I believe the first thing I bought with my own money was two small lego boxes in a store. They also had a third one that my brother bought. It costed 6 euros (so 3 euros per box). I still have the lego although it's actually property from my brother now as I don't play with lego anymore but he does a lot.

It depends on what you mean by first purchase. If you mean first purchase using my own money, then I'd say my current laptop. I earned the money from programming projects I got from an organization. However, if you just mean first purchase using my parents' money (my allowance counted. I always think that my allowance is their money and not mine) then I'd say it's a toy with candies inside.

Well, the first thing that I bought with my own money as an adult on my own, without being told that I had to buy it ( glaring at you here, Army ) would be my XBOX 360, I think. After that was my first car, once I got to my duty station.
