Actually, the longest you can live without eating is around 180 DAYS! That's 26 weeks or 6.5 months. Of course, that's if you apply minimum effort, and even then it would be quite torturous.

I would die probably. I have a big appetite, and I seem to always be hungry. I can barely go a day without eating, little long a week  

Good question, it would be pretty painful for me since I'm a teenager, and a guy nonetheless. I have a voracious appetite, and 8 days without food is a pretty long time considering the facts. 


I would probably drink milk, water and also coffee/tea. I think the longest I've gone without eating anything is around 15~18 hours or so. Even though the human body can go for much longer periods of time without eating, I would prefer not to, since food is a necessity. In this 8 day period I would drastically reduce the amount of energy I exert (even if it can be recovered through energy drinks,etc.) in order to make this ordeal less painful. 


I wouldn't enjoy it, but I think I would be able to manage if it were to ever happen. 

I might have been a bit off in my last reply where I said I could probably make it for a few days. I had a baseball game a few days ago where my ticket came with a fees buffet so my dinner the night before was supposed to be the last thing I ate until I got to the game at 5 pm the next day, so about 22 hours and I couldn't make it, i caves in after just one day so a full week is out of the question for me.

If I could not eat for a week, I would probably get a lot of drinks that have the supplements that you need. I would probably drink a few Monsters, and a lot of V8 Fusions and some water. 

ahkarate : 180 days, that's crazy man, the longest you could go without eating at a maximum is around 2 weeks and for certain people who need to eat like me probably couldn't even last that long.

No. Not because of a drought because I was sick and I had an appendix problem.

Okay, I was wrong about 180 (Maybe that's the hypothetical absolute limit), but its far from 2 weeks. As for me, I wouldn't mind so much, unless I had to work while starving.

You'll have pretty bad hunger pains for a few days before your body starts getting used to it. I however, would probably not live because of my huge appetite and skinny demeanor, lol

I've actually done this before (don't ask: I won't answer xD), and it's actually not nearly as bad as you'd think. After the third day I didn't feel hungry at all for the rest of the week. Hard to believe, but true.

Basically I drank a lot more fluids. Mostly milk, juice, and soda; I'm sorry, but it's extremely difficult to drink plain water in that situation, it turns my stomach.

But yeah, it isn't all that bad as my experience goes.

I would drink beer all week long (and other fluids). I would mostly drink stout beers (mostly the oatmeal stouts). I do believe that during the famine period in Ireland (in the 1800s), the Irish drank beer more than usual (which is probably a lot considering how much they drink!).

With that being said, I would drink ales with lots of nourishing things put in them.

If I couldn't eat for a week I would fetch me loads of those Special K supplement drinks or whatever they're called. They contain loads of vitamins and proteins and taste decent, which is more than enough nutrition I need for one day.

If I weren't allowed to eat for a week, I would probably drink lots and lots for juice to kinda trick my stomach into thinking that it's full. I would also be on a computer, since I love being on a computer, to try and ignore my hunger.

The sleeping part would be the hardest, since I can't sleep at all when I'm hungry. I would probably like stay up until 2 AM and then sleep because by then, I'm really tired.

I see the I am allowed to drink things during my time of not eating for the week, so I'd just drink a lot of Coke. It would be really unhealthy, but it would still be able to keep me living for the week, then I can eat better things after the week is up. 

Honestly it really depends what you do if you live a very hectic lifestyle, you're going to need the nutrients from drinks and that lot.. 

My honest opinion is that if this was the case you'd only be allowed to drink water... There are people that live in the world that live on liquid diets... jus saiyan... 

I mean with juices and other drinks.. All your doing is replacing the food with a liquid alternative, granted you might lack the protein if you simply drink fruit juices.. And probably the fat too.. But you'd still get the sugar you needed... and probably an excess of vitamins, I mean your bowels would likely be far more active.. And your stomach would feel empty but besides that it wouldn't really affect someone that badly.. 

Now if it was just water.. Your body would slowly start to transform fat and muscle into sugars and proteins... as there would be nothing to get that from... Depending on your weight and health conditions.. You could deteriorate very quickly within a week. Even more so if you are a active person... Plus there's also the acute risk that you try to fill the void in your stomach with water too much and essentially making yourself ill from water poisoning. 

I mean even people in hospitals that can't eat have IV's that provide them with nutrients...so they don't experience starvation either.

If I could not eat for a week, nothing in my life would change because I don't eat very much in the first place. Heck, half the time I will go two days without eating just because I forgot.

Human can survive longer without food than water so I would probably be alive, but my body will look adnormal from the weight loss.
