I have a huge amount of notes from lectures and readings. My professor hasn't told my class and I what to study yet, so I've been reviewing my notes since the beginning for the last few days, but this seems boring and strenuous.

I was alive my freshmen year (now a sophomore), but most of my classes were just PowerPoint based and everything was posted online.

How should I be studying here?
What would you be doing if you were me?

xxeliza321xx : If I were you, I woulnd't be studying at all because I don't need to study. Most teachers give a list of what's going to be on a test or something, yours didn't tell you what's important and what's very important? If you must, just go over everything, but re read it over and over.

Are you trying to study for a semester exam?  What is everyone else studying?  Even if studying is boring and strenuous, it has to be done if you want to pass.   There are a couple of things you could do to make it more bareable though:

Set up a 'reward system' for yourself.  Tell yourself that once you've studied so many pages... you'll have a treat/ play some games/ watch some Tv..... whatever you would enjoy most. However, you have to self-discipline yourself to REALLY study, and to ONLY reward yourself once you've met your goals.

Study with someone whose company you enjoy, but make sure you stay on task.

Make some kind of game from it. Design flash cards.  Draw pictures of concepts you struggle with.  Write creative pieces of literature with other pieces of information.  The more diverse methods you use to study.... the more interesting it is... but more importantly, the better it will stick in your mind.  By changing your studying habits and activating multiple parts of your brain, you have the best chances of succeeding.

I find that I learn best from being in the class and taking notes on what the teacher says. Doing assigned work and readings along with paying attention in class should be enough to get you a good grade on a test. I take notes for the purpose of processing the information in class. I have never studied from them but I know that they are there if I need them. Teachers don't usually give tests on anything that you would not know by paying attention and doing the readings that you are supposed to do.

I hope this helps you.

Hello I was once a college student so I can relate. When I had a lot to study I did not try to study everything at once. What I did was break it down. If you try to study all at once you will get burned out and frustrated. When I had a test coming up. I would break it down. For example say I knew there would be a test on 4 chapters that were covered. I would study chapter 1 and my notes from chapter 1 one night and maybe the next and go from there. I felt like I obtained the info better that way. I know everybody has their own style of studying but I hope this helps. Good luck in your studies and Blessings in Christ

If she's not going to as tests come closer, then someone really needs to ask before ita too late. Just ask if any of this will be on a test or which notes are more important.

I tended to make key notes with friends. You can condense the facts, and the process subconsciously ingrains the info into your head.
You are held to account when you aren't studying alone too.
