Hey there , This is another review of an anime series , I have been really sick of late so i hope this one at least reaches the standards of the ones before it . If it does not i apologise but thanks for reading anyways , It would however be nice to get a bit of feed back every now and then . That would be great .
Synopsis
As they say “life and death siblings” brother Utsutsu and sister Yume have for the most part been all alone throughout their lives , being brought up in an unforgiving household they are left to fend for themselves . Yume waits for her brother one day when she sees a pretty red butterfly and suddenly both siblings lives take another turn for the worst .
Genre 4
More or less a horror with a bit of psychological stuff going on this is a genre that pretty much seems to be hit or miss . And for Pupa it was a major miss . It definitely had the makings for something that could have been pulled off somewhat nicely , so it was a disappointment to see how poorly everything played out.
Story 3
At the beginning it is somewhat clear what the plot of it all is , but as you continue it gets further and further away from that idea to the point you do not really know what they are trying to accomplish any more . I feel I may be a bit more biased about this anime because I did read the ongoing manga of it in anticipation for this series and was sorely disappointed by literally everything . This was something I was excited for , I was hoping for something unique and it did have the elements for a story of it is own but it was so badly done that it left me sour about it. Sadly it happens where amazing manga's can be somehow botched by a shoddy anime , Whether it is too do with lack of funding , or lack of the director actually knowing where to go with it .
Detail 4
Another modernly done anime however things seemed a bit more sketchy than they normally would . It was not the neatest I have seen that is for sure . Also the censors made it hard to view this completely . It is a horror anime , you should not be censoring the gore in my opinion so that was another let down for me . You do not even get to see the detail put into the main focus of the story because it is censored . So also take that into consideration for younger people reading this , this is definitely not something you should seek out .
Sound 7
I can hardly remember the opening or the ending if I can be perfectly honest , but I know they were not bad, just nothing memorable in anyway . The background music was actually done fairly nicely for its genre and the sound effects are also well done which is probably the best thing about this . I read that they recorded the sound effects specifically for this anime so they went the extra mile on that . It is nice and gross sounding .

The only reason I kept watching this is because as I said early I read the manga in anticipation for it and I just kept waiting for it to get better . It never got better , each new release just brought me more and more disappoint and confusion . This brings nothing enjoyable to the table and it seems to be produced cheaply . The characters have no substance to them and it just reeks of a total failure .
Over-All 3
I can not stress enough that this is not suitable for younger people , this is a horror and although it does an awful job of that it still is what it is . I think the only redeeming quality about this was how short the episodes were , I like it as the longest one episode was maybe 6 minutes . This includes opening and ending . I feel bad that I can not find anything else decent to say about this but as I said I am probably more biased that most going into this .
