"Who created the Dream crown?" A female voice came as if from nowhere.

"Ohh, the Dream Master did!" Suki exclaimed raising her hand.

"Very good, Suki." The teacher responded. "That's 5 out of 6 correct. Let's see some other students chime in, please?"

Everyone in the classroom moaned a little bit over that last comment. But Suki didn't mind, she liked being ahead of everyone. It just meant that she was smarter. And she liked studying history, especially of the Latise. It was all interesting.

"Uh, ma'm?" One student asked.

"Yes Peter."

"What about the other world, like, is it even real? Or is it just a realm of imagination? I'm confused. It. . . didn't really make sense when I read it. Sorry to ask. . ."

"Oh, it's fine dear; here." The teach drew two lines across the chalkboard. "We are all here, in this realm. Each dimension is based off an earlier dimension. The Sol dimension is Parallel to Mobius, as a result there are many similar things in both. Mobius is Parallel to earth, but-"

"Oh, ma'm! Please, tell me about Earth! This book has almost nothing about it!" Another mobian chimed in.

"I'm in the middle of another explanation, Richard! But, since we're on the topic, there is a reason we don't talk about that planet much. That planet is generally much farther behind than our own technology, until one of their scientists, General Gerald Robotnik came to Mobius via some sort of dimension sync exploit. Since then, Earth had suddenly seen increments in technology, but only in one particular government. The United Federation, which keeps it to itself for the most part. As a result, the rest of the planet stays behind, which is why we don't have much interest in it. Now. . . back to what I was explaining earlier."

"The Phykosis Dimension is located here." The teacher explains as she points her piece of chalk at the lowest bar on the chalk board.

"We are located here."

She circles the highest division on the Chalkboard.

"We need to head one dimension lower before we can access the the Phykosis Dimension. The Sol dimension is too severed. "

"But that's why our ancestors came here in the first place." One little boy piped up. "It was so that they could stay far away." He said with a smile.

"That's right, Mathew." the teacher said with a smile. "It is real, very real, that's why they had to escape. Escape from a real dimension that they just lived in. Even though it can be controlled by one's thoughts, it is a physical place that your body would be taken to if you ever found a way to warp there. . . which is why. . . "

"We need the dream crown." Suki finished with a smile.

* * * * * * *

"oh?"

Suki looked around as she came out of the day dreaming. A surprised, concerned expression came across her face as she looked about and took it all in.

The Ifritt dimension.

This part of the said place was known for it's odd imprint in the sea.

The sea had large open pockets where the lava would pour straight down, and these "pockets" Could be miles wide. The bottom of the pockets was often dry, with obsidian plates to walk across. The entrance to several caves could be found spiraling about inside the walls, and even a few knocked over pillars from an ancient civilization.

"Hey! Are we ready to go?" Suki asked excitedly.

"Alright, alright, let's see what we've got here, Everyone! form up! Suki! You're . . ." Jake couldn't remember, and his statement trailed off, incomplete.

"Support class now." Suki said smiling. Jake looked at the yellow mark on her suite, it made an arrow pointing up. This special mark detonated Suki as a supporter, it meant that rather than being equipped with weapons, she would have psychokinetic gloves, and boots. Her job was to shield others in the event that a formation was called. She would also pin enemies down for others to finish off more often than taking them out herself.

There were four major classes of mobian soldiers who served in the Latise.

There were the Parydek, with who had orange markings, and carried shields + pistols. They weren't that common.

There were the assault class soldiers, who had red marks on their suites. They only had one, red phsycokinetic glove, and they carried a weapon called a bowan. It looked like a boomerang, only with a grip handle sticking out the inside angle. The outside of the angle glew with electric energy. It could be used both as a blade, and as a tossable boomerang, always coming back to the "linking" hand of it's thrower. The assault class only phsykonetic powers were their special link to the bowan they carried.

The Tomeldek were soldiers without shields. They carried personalized rifles, or pistols, and sometimes a blade coming off their arm like Princess Sally has in the Sonic Archie comics. However, most mobians found the bowan most likable, as it easily went with their already natural, super athletic abilities.

Once formed up, there were 40 in all. With a total number of comrades this high, Suki couldn't wait to jump into the action.

"Okay, we've got the keeper of this dream crown part moving forward ahead of us. He's still inside the underground caverns, so that's where we're going! Now, nobody split up, that's how these guys hunt; picking their prey off one by one. Stick together and play it tight, stay near your support troops, and let's beat them!"

Jake claps. His special right wrist ring slightly glowing red due to the movement.

Suki found her group and took the her place in the back. The other 6 guys formed an arrow in front of her marching forward, save one rifle man who walked next to her.

After walking for a while, things got boring. Suki wish that everyone didn't have to be so strict. As such, she decided to break the silence.

"Hi!" She said, attempting to engage her new comrade in a conversation.

"You must be the replacement for our squad since Darren got injured!" She added enthusiastically.

. . .

The green bird says nothing.

"Okaaaaaayyyyy. . . ." Suki though to herself looking away in dismay. "We won't get to know each other and one of us'll die in dramatic fashion anyways. greeeaaaaaattt."

"Huh?" The bird asked.

"OOp- nothing! she said- wondering if she had accidentally voiced her sarcastic thoughts out loud, or at least under her breath, but still loud enough for her ally to hear.

"I wasn't talking to you, I was trying to listen to Jake!" the bird said in an almost ticked of fashion.

"Oh, he's. . . "

Suki looked forward. There was Jake talking to Narabot. She pulled looked at her little data map to get a better scoop on things. They were approaching several pockets alit with lava falls, in fact, all the pockets were interconnected. It could be quite a slaughter house once the fighting started. Suki hadn't seen many people die, as this work wasn't at all like fighting a war, just small recon missions while fighting off locals, or whoever didn't want them around. Reviewing Jake once again, she saw Narabot look at him and nod before jumping down. It surprised her, but, she supposed, robots were more expendable. So why not send them ahead? Not that she though lowly of Narabot, not at all, but this was the logic that Mikaid would go by. But to Suki? Narabot was a brother, they had been through a lot- in spite of his pessimism and constant correcting her, she really did like him, maybe because of how she could make him become flustered due to his more simplistic programming. Suki smiled at that thought.

"What're you smiling about?" The green bird finally asked.

"Huh? Oh, nothing, nothing at all."

"I can tell." the green bird stated again. Suki swore she saw him swirling his eyes underneath those glasses like a dizzy fly high on soda pop.

Annoying.

"Oh Chryssy, Will ANYONE stop looking down on me around here?!" She asked to herself in dismay. It was unfortunate, but it seemed that even new people didn't like her. Perhaps they just viewed her as an outcast. Or maybe her hunch was right- they hated how she had been raised my Omycied all her life- much better off than everyone else, who actually joined the Latise to escape the poverty of their own families on nearby islands. Trying to get out of primitive tribalism.

"GOOO!" Jake yelled drawing his Bowan and jumping down. His squadmates where soon to follow, boldly going in after him.

"Ah!" Suki was taken off guard, and now suddenly they had to run! she picked up the pace and rushed ahead to engage the enemy, as she approached the ledge, the she stopped just short of it and looked down. Her forward squadmates jumped down ahead of her and joined the battle, what she saw was perhaps the weirdest thing she'd seen yet.

She'd seen snow spirits, . .

She'd seen ancient robots. . .

But these. . . creatures . . .made out of lava?

They were kindof looking like Mobians, but not quite, any sonic fan would recognize them as the same kind of race as the nocturnus clan from Sonic Dark Chronicles, only made out of lava, but Suki had no idea that they were deformed Echidna's of sorts.

"Take them out!" Jake commanded as he rushed one. It jumped back, firing a lava beam at him and missing due to his own lack of skill. Jake sprinted forward and launched his bowan anyways, it cut the monster, and Jake finished it off with a punch of his fist, aura burning off his special wrist ring.

Suki wasted no time, she jumped down below, and marked her enemy. It saw her decision however and attempted to change her mind- in the forceful way. A laser beam streaked by the right side of her face, but a psychokinetic blade was proven much more accurate, followed by a homing attack combo.

"Support!" Her forwardmen cried out as they began pushing the enemy beyond the curtain. They had come under heavier fire and needed assistance- that was her job. To protect them and pin enemies for easy attacks.

"I'm coming!" she yelled as she ran up behind them. Playing "shield me" wasn't her style, but she knew that things would be more fun and chaotic soon enough. . . hopefully without any friendly deaths. . .

"We've driven them back!" Jake called out of the commotion. "They're headed in the caves! Suki! Locate the dream crown piece!"

"Got it!" Suki exclaimed, as she looked behind herself- shielding her allies with her psychokinetic abilities.

"I think . . . . it's. . .over here!" She started to walk toward a certain cave.

Her sqaudmates began to follow.

"Finally, I'm in the lead!" She thought to herself. "They shouldn't wo-"

Suki's thoughts are interrupted, as the floor comes out from underneath her feet. She collapses, and begin to fall, as do her comrades behind her. She looks down and sees a ledge to grab- She can use her psychokinesis. . . if she can just-

*catch*

The metalic arms of Narabot lift her through the air before any more can happen, but as he does this, Suki looks in horror at her squadmates.

They falls, and smack onto the ground, almost next to the lava, one of them hits on a bad angle, and rolls into the lava. . . barely. . . and begins to crawl out.

"AAAuuuuuHH!" The Assualter cries. Immediatly, a comrade comes to his aid and utilizes an ice ring, He makes signals showing that they have a man down. Next thing Suki knows, Narabot has placed her on stable ground. He flies off to save others who are still hanging on.

For a moment, Suki feels sober, that something really, REALLY bad didn't happen to her, on the other hand, her psychokinesis made her pretty safe. But as a third point? Narabot didn't have to rescue her. She was perfectly able of catching herself in the air a hovering back to safety, but the others? Not so much.

Why even bother trying to rescue her? She was fine. . . or at least she figured. The two soldiers who made a jump forward and where hanging on for dear life needed caught! Not her!

No time to waste! A lava beam striking the the ground next to her would get her back into the action as chaos ensued in that favorite pastime otherwise known as a battle. Suki spotted down below a group of these. . . lava guys. . .crawling out of the heated pool and climbing up the rocks. Three of them began heading toward one of her squad mates who was hanging on the edge of a cliff. Suki used her psychokinetic gloves to grab the soldier, and lift him onto higher ground. The lava based enemies look over at her and ready their arms to fire. Suki effortlessly counter fires her own psychokinetic blade before returning to her original objective.

Find the dream crown piece.

Suki made signals showing other she had found the location. She couldn't explain it, but she could sense it's location, and apparently no one else could. The only others who could even help with this task were the white giziods who were reprogrammed my Mikaid. Something about charging them with the Phykosis Emerald. A special emerald that is said to be a counterfeit to the Sol Emeralds. Or even the missing eighth. . . much mystery surrounded it, and Mikaid would never really explain, even so, Suki sensed a great power coming from it. To be honest, she wondered if she could use it somehow because of the aurau that she saw coming from it. She could feel it.

And the dream crown pieces. . .

in her blood. . .

After walking down the dark caverns for while, it became a bit unsettling. All the action had died off and it was as if they were waiting to strike again. Suki guided the others. Narabot wasn't far behind, nor was Jake. Chryssy wasn't with them today, but Suki was glad for that- she didn't want her to get hurt. As she took her steps forward, she stepped on a few pieces of gravel and kicked some of it forward. Looking down, a concerned expression spawned across her face. The rocks scattered in front of her like loose marbles on the ground. Letting out a quick breath and looking around, she continued on. Scanning the walls and stlagtites. She saw an upper walkway, at first it was made out of stone, but it eventually merged with structure-like build. Black rocks, probably obsidian. Finally they emerged into a larger room underneath with a lower area and lava in a pit.

"Got anything Suki?" Jake finally asked.

"Not really. . . I think it's moving!" Suki explained.

"Blast. . . We may have to split up in order stop it." He commented. Jake wasn't a complainer, but anyone could understand an eagerness to get out of here. It was an ambush just waiting to happen.

In fact, it may even now be too late. . .

"Negative. We do not have the place mapped out. Splitting up could result in hitting several traps and being picked off. A masacre on our end." Narabot interjected to Jakes suggestion. Narabot really was a sticker to the rules, but as far as Suki could tell, he didn't want to see anyone get hurt either.

"You have a map making device don't you?" Jake spoke in a questioning tone.

"No"

"Then what kind of a robot are you?"

"A good one." Narabot remarked almost totally seriously, with only a hint of uprising in his voice.

"Riight." Jake responded sarcastically. "Okaay. Now what do we do...?"

"Continue pursuing the enemy." Narabot stated. "This strategy is safe."

"Of course. . . " Jake responded. "Safe. . ."

. . .

"It doesn't exactly get the job done." he though. . . .

"Enemies coming FROM THE REAR" Narabot yelled, the pitch increasing in his voice as he warned.

Everyone turned around. A large formed squadron of Lava Echidnas were walking right toward them. Equal in numbers. No. Greater.

"Who brought the hot sauce?" Mattis stated as he drew his Bowan and began backing up. He was a blue bird who wielded a bowan like Jake did, often not far from his side.

"I did." a terribly pessimistic voice came from above.

Jake, Suki, and the others looks up. On a rocky ledge, there was another lava echidna, but this one had shorter droughs, a cape of some black rocky and yet thread like composite, and a staff. He looked down, his eyes matching his hand as it came up his staff in a slow, stoking fashion. As his hand reached the top, he looked down at the group over his right shoulder. He seemed to be viewing them wistfully as subjects of non identity. Pieces to pieces, and dust to dust. Musing over his "enemies" He spoke dryly once again.

"Are you going to stay?" He asked.

"You have the dream crown piece!" Mattis stated in accusation. A small amount of concern painted across his face with a hardened mentality, unwilling to give much to read off of.

"Yes. . . ." The monster replied gazing up with no end to his distant figuring.

"Then why don't I sense it?" Suki asked herself. . .

"Well. . . no. Really. . . But it doesn't mean much. Would you like too. . . surrender?"

. . . .

No one says anything to him. They only eye him with suspicion trying to make out who he is and what he wants, making out what they can of his curious nature and the darkened altitude of that other world otherwise known as his mind.

"Oh. . . . . . . . I'm sorry. Please. Feel free to die." He finished as no one gave him any responses.

"I don't know but we've been terribly misinformed." Jake stated in suspensive realization. "There are legions of them down in here! Death can wait, I have some trash to get over with. Champions! Ariels! Hold them back and disperse. Hunter squadren, Miser and Bowler units! follow Suki! Everyone else! Hold this position . . . . . HUAAAAAAA!!" Jake, charged and took the forward launch, a few others followed in this desperate launching to break the enemy line and dispel them in their minds and souls.

Suki turned around and ran as best she could. An uncertain expression came over her face as the thoughts and crys of others raced into her mind.

How many. . . were going to die?

She was leaving them. . . behind! To pursue her mission, and yet.

Non of them may survive!

But. . . she couldn't think. . . about that. . . .now.

She had. . . To keep going forward!

Suki ran through the caves. The further she got the darker it seemed. She saw the glowing eyes of their enemies potentially sleeping up against the dark walls as she went further and further down the tunnel.

Too late!

Enemies merged from the walls and surrounded Suki's party.

"Stay Back!" Suki heard one ally yell as he fought back the monsters.

"Press forward!" Suki commmanded. "Narabot!! Please!"

"I have it." Narabot stated as he charged aurau all around him and boosted toward the group of enemies forming at the back.

"We've got-t to make- it! Suki stuttered as she ran forward. She stopped and lifted two large boulders. Hurling them at the large group of enemies behind her.

"Watch it!" Narabot scolded.

"Sorry!" Suki exclaimed with a cheesy grin, "Just gotta go fast!"

Everyone ran further down. Most enemies were too sleepy to care to pursue their foes or even fight well. They seemed to be to small in numbers to do much of anything anyways.

"Will Jake be alright?" Suki asked as they kept moving. For Narabot had come up alongside her, probably to be kept on close tabs for future commands.

"He'll be fine." Narabot affirmed. "He is buying us time and will likely hold his position until the last trial. He is not incapable, our equipment is much better than theirs. Also, Jake has done well at holding the line before. Irregardless, he has bought us time to complete the mission. Let us go."

"Hmmm." Suki looked down and thought for a moment, putting her concern for Jake down for the moment. Finally, she piped up her next instruction for reaching their target.

"This way!"

After walking and battling small resistances here and there, fending off a lava beam, or running bridges across gaps, the group made it to some large doors.

Suki looked up at them. They were made out of some kind of black metal, with white, and light brown carvings of these lava monsters, and. . . echidnas? There was something written at the bottom of the door that Suki couldn't read, above the inscription on the left side, one could see these loathesome creatures lying on the ground, some sticking their hands out in resistance to a light coming out of an emerald, a Sol emerald to be exact. Yet some of them looked like they were receiving the power into their hands like starving peasants gladly accepting life and other heavenly provisions from some holy aura that a priest may wield. The Sol Emerald was held by a figure who looked like Chaos, stepping out of a portal, but he wore something on his head, and had a necklace. Was that a. . . helmet. . .that he was wearing? On the right side of the picture were angry normal echidnas, with a mountain in the back ground. Certain Echinda's were standing up and shaking their fists, others where on the ground and also shielding the Sol emerald's power from their eyes. For some reason, there were three suns in the sky, each one taking up a different place on the door. One of these suns looked more like a full moon, it took up the left side of the sky overshadowing the lava monsters that they had been fighting. The normal sun was on the right and guarded the normal echidna's in their rage against the chaos like entity. But a blazing sun was in the middle, and it stood above the strange figure who held the Sol Emerald.

For he. . . .

was the master. . . .

"Open the door Suki." Narabot said calmly.

Suki observed that Narabot was also taking in these inscriptions. They must have interested him too. But Narabot was done looking now. And he was right.

It was time to press forward.

Suki took a deep breath. She grabbed the doors with her psychokinesis and opened them wide.

[link] http://sonicstyle.org/music/sonic_x/music/sonic0029.mp3 [/link]

They all entered inside and came into a kind of throne room. With three thrones at the end, upper catwalks, and light streaming in from the ceiling, which apparently had glass skylights keeping lava. . . and. . . blue lava out?!?

The walls were a tan stone masonry color, and a few stained glass window and pictures added to the technique and flavor of this grand room. But what contained Suki's glance the most. . . was who sat in the throne, once all the other artistry of the room had been seen and read by her mind.

"You're. . . " Suki looked forward and saw another lavay figure. He looked like Chaos, but he had a black, obsidian skull with yellow and orange jelewed eyes as his "helmet's" eyes, and a necklace hung around his neck. A single white point point hung from the black rock-thread string, or whatever it was made up of.

"The Keeper. . ." He finished.

"The keeper?" Suki asked, unsure of what "The keeper" meant.

"Of this dimension." He finishes.

">__ Data gathered. You fit the description of Maugus the Wave." Narabot stated. "Immortality is one of your qualities I am aware." Narabot interjected. He wanted to face this monster, especially one of which he knew the histories of.

"It is. As it should be for all. . . " Maugus states.

"You come here. But a reason, I have not heard from your lips." Maugus angles his head at this statement. But only slightly, and not 100% in a look of. . . aggresion. . .

"It is for the better." Narabot says getting in his fighting stance.

"Hold on Narabot, Maybe we can talk with him, he hasn't threatened us yet."

. . . . .

. . . . .

". . . . . . eheh. . . " Maugus emits deeply as he gets up from his throne.

"We live down here. To attack soldiers who enter our domain is only fair- and right. I worked greatly to establish my kingdom, and it took many years. We have become more than just ghosts and shadows because of me. But now. . . .

. . .You will join us!" He finishes turning his head down a little bit.

"Correctly speculated. New plan/>_ Suki! I take the front!" Narabot says as he dashes forward and makes a punch for Maugus."

Maugus grabs Narabot's arm and throws it aside. He counter punches, but Narabot jumps backwards. Bouncing in place displaying his fight and ready stance.

Maugus just stares at the shorter mecha. He hardly moves outside of subtle breathing. Never moving his glare away from the adversary. Narabot doesn't like it. He know's that this guy has got plenty of moves up his sleeve. Narabot lunges forward, Maugus grabs him and tosses him aside. Maugus pulls a sword out of thin air- a black one, who's only odd color was that of a red jewel in the heart. Narabot gets up and attacks with another punch, which misses, but it is still followed up with several combos, all demonstrating the acrobatic capabilities of Narabot and his programming.

Narabot flips over Maugus and finally makes a large jab, but in an interception, Maugus slashes the robot and smashes him into the ground.

As Maugus lunges over her robot guardian, Suki doesn't hold back the troops anymore. She makes the signal go for a charge, and her commands are met with the forward troops attacking first. Maugus lights his fist in great fire and slams the ground, causing fire to ripple out in every direction, and forces everyone away, Even Narabot's body slides across the floor into the wall. The infernal lord then turns around and gazes at the female in charge.

Suki.

In front of the remaining half of the troops. He still hold to the same death stare that He gave Narabot.

"We'll still get you!" Suki warned.

"Not possible. My own soldiers are already here." He said as he looked up at the upper walkways.

Down they came filling the passages up with minions. They were ready to destroy, anything that their darkened lord commanded. Some of them having served him for ages in the depths of this cavern. Battles beyond Suki's comprehension they had seen. To receive the orders of their king once again was something to be relished.. And guests this numerous? Now. They enjoyed it.

And there he was.

That same caped lava guy that they saw earlier. The staff holder. He seemed just as dead as the rest of them.

Stroking his staff with his fingers in as dry a way as ever. He spoke, adding to the flavor of this flaming battle between black and red.

"You needed me?" He asked looking down below.

"Kill them now." Maugus stated. "They will become one of us."

Suki's mind began to take fear as an open route. The numerous enemy had already began pouring down below jumping down upon their hapless rivals and showing them no grace in incineration. But Her allies were strong. The forwardmen had already gotten up and were taking the motions at the greatest that they could wield.

"More did you say?" The strange caped one said as he lifted his staff upright. More soldiers under his command came from the upper areas and poured in. Many of them waited for their allies below to be defeated before they jumped down to fill their place, lest the room become to full to operate in.

"SOL CONTROL!" Maugus yelled as he blasted forward towards Suki's group. But Suki saw something like this coming and jumped, as did a few others. Some White Giziods, about 4 total were with them, had recognized this action and had avoided it. Maugus Had jetted forward 15 feet from that move with leading fist and hit Suki's squadmates like a bowling ball striking Pins. Firy aura emitted from this right fist as he made this hostile jab. Suki had heard of Sol Control before, but only certain people could control it, and even then they usually needed a Sol Emerald. . .

Unless. . .

This guy didn't need one?!

"Try and take me on!" Suki taunted as she thought up a strategy to fight him with.

She knew his weakness.

It was range- something that she had.

If she could just grab him. . .

"If you insist woman!" Maugus stated. He charged her, and Suki got ready to counter it.

"You have NO CHANCE!" His blade came slicing down, Suki was barely back far enough to avoid it. She grabbed him, and threw him into the wall with her psychokinesis. He probably wasn't aware that she had this move, but it made her feel good fool such a powerful foe like that.

And it gave her allies hope-

Hope. . . that they could succeed.

Barely an oof comes out of Maugus as he bounces off the wall. But he quickly gets up and makes two large punches with his arms, stretching thanks to their lavay quality. He then jumps and slams the ground in front of Suki. Suki dodges the punches, but not the slam. The shockwave knocks her back, but she recovers quickly and charges her foes once again.

"Try this!" She says as she launches two psychokinetic blades at her opponent. He draws his sword and "breaks" them with easy swipes, causing them to disappear. He then charges but his move is matched as Suki attempts to use the homing attack, a favorite staple of her kind. She overshoots when Maugus ducks, who then again proceeds to go through the motions and stabs at Suki. She moves her body quickly to the right, as several more swings come upon her, but it is a single back flip that puts her out of his deadly reach.

Temporarily.

"You cannot back up forever." He says placing his sword in front of him, pointing it at the white hedgehog who knew her dreams.

Maugus leaps toward her, both arms come up above his head, and a downward slash would mark Suki's great experience with opening her mind.

Literally.

Suki's mind thinks in a way that does not use words, but it process's an effort, an effort that is at least worth trying as Maugus comes down faster than she can move beyond the point or slashing.

*CLASH*

Maugus's sword collided with A blade that Suki spawned right into her hand.

Maugus says nothing.

He presses harder.

But Suki presses back.

Closer and closer Maugus's sword comes toward Suki's head.

The energy came pouring out or her blade as she tried to keep it intact. It wasn't ideal, at all, and She kept draining her psychokinesis energy to reform it as it took damage from Maugus's grinding.

"You. . . . . don't!"

"I will!" Maugus said.

"Oh help me no. . ." Suki thought to herself. But what Suki could not see, was rushing to assistance from behind.

For her allies had taken notice and were ready to step in, coming quickly, and catching Maugus's attention.

"Nooooooowwwww!" He said in a deep, mature voice as he pressed his hardest- and jumped back.

Maugus turned around and jumped up to the higher walkways, striking his fist into the wall and hoisting himself up in a leap as he disappeared outside.

"Huaaaaaaaaa!!!!!" yelled a familiar tone from the upper levels as his bowan struck down two enemies who stood in his way.

Suki looked up. It was Jake, with a black eye, and grinnning, almost maliciously.

"Jake!" Suki exclaimed. "How. . . "

"Huh?!" He yelled down below as he received the bowan back into his hand that he had just threw.

". . . How. . . HOW DID YOU SURVIVE." She blurted out in shock.

"Oh, that's easy. . . " Jake stated in an almost teasing, upbeat fashion.

"THAT GUY" He pointed at the lava echidna in a cape. "Has only gotten a staff of laughs! Like his toy ghosts?" He asked in a mean, but upbeat way.

"HUH?!"

"They're all fake!" He said as he charged a group of enemies on the higher level. slashing three of them and making them disappear like holograms.

"WHAATT?" Suki asked in shock. They were. . . . not. . . REAL!?

"That's why they don't all come down and fight at once. Lousy aimers too. Cuase if they hit ya. . . ."

"You'd immediately know something was up when You didn't feel any pain. HA!" He finished, clearly having way to good a time taking down targets. . . that weren't even a threat.

"We can do this!" Suki said gleefully. Having reanalyzed the situation, she was ready for her next offensive move.

"Narabot, ready?" She asked.

Suki Looked around.

"Narabot?" She asked. "Where are you?!"

Suki didn't know, but Narabot had flown up to where Maugus leaped up and followed him outside. Maugus had already left the room. But Narabot gave chase. Outside was located a large underground cavern that opened up for almost miles around. There, Narabot spotted his foe.

"I will defeat you." He stated to his taller enemy.

"No." He stated turning around.

"You won't!"

"I am ready for you this time." Narabot dashed his enemy and threw his fist. Maugus remained unstuck, and swung his sword, it clashed with Narabot's arm, But Narabot was projecting arm sheild blades- they didn't reach far at all, and weren't for attacking, just defense, as they only ran the back of his arm, and in this case, they were exceptional. Narabot took advantage of this surprise, and grabbed Maugus's arm. He kicked Maugus in the gut and tossed him on the ground.

Maugus got up made a punch toward his opponent, which Narabot jumped over. Narabot landed in front of him with a downward punch, which failed to hit it's target. But Maugus was ready- and pulling his arms back he unleashed his darkened blade.

The blade came down, but it missed Narabot's arm guard. Slicing his arm at the joint, and causing it to fall loosely. As of such, Narabot's right arm became useless and just simply hung there, swaying whichever way it would, jerking in the motions. Another swing, and Narabot backed off. Even with a jump. He began shooting from his left hand at Maugus, but, as he expected, Maugus easily dodged the shots by jumping over them.

"Do you fear me?" Maugus asked menacingly as he came closer and closer.

"No. . . . . !"

"Well. . . you. . . "

Maugus made one more leap for Narabot, and distance between them came to a close.

". . . should." He said in his deep voice with only a hint of expression.

He swung only once, which missed. His second attack was a stab. It pictured right Through Narabot, causing him to jolt and jitter. Sputtering around he began shaking. Defeated, he fell on the ground. "I. . . noooooo. . . " died the words as they came from his mouth.

"Narabot!!" came a worried female's voice from behind.

She could hardly take in what she saw.

The corpse of his robot body lying on the ground.

Motionless.

Strangled.

Pierced.

By a sword.

The color black dashed just over head. From his hand came a bowan, hitting Maugus and coming back to the place of release. Jake landed nearby his enemy and swung for a clash. Anger and determination was the expression on Jake's face. He continued to keep up the assault. Driving slashes at his opponent. But Maugus was a master of defense. Blocking each swing with his superior, enchanted, close up weapon.

A sword.

"Stay out of this Suki!" Jake commanded. He finally backflipped to put some distance between the two. Maugus jumped after him, coming down in front of the black hawk and pulling back his arm, he unleashed a series of sword swings. Jake manged to block all of them, yet Maugus found his mark with the swing of his stretching arm. Knocking Jake back into a rock. Maugus jumped back and stanced himself to face both Suki and Jake.

Jake forced himself up. He pulled out the white ring from behind him. It felt refreshing in his hand, like an icicle to a wound. He wasn't doing to well. Tired from previous battles, even bearing a black eye. But not anymore.

Jake squeezed the ring, and white beams shot out from his hands, and some glowing "snow" sprinkling all around his body. In an icy galore, he immediately felt rejuvenated. It was a wonderful sensation in great contrast to this death pit that he had been fighting in for what seemed forever. The blackness around his eye slowly faded away, and a determined look spread across his face.

"Now I'm coming for you." He said in resolution.

Maugus angled his head down. His yellow eyes glowing and his breath in silence. Suki began to get worried taking it all in.

"Come" He breathed out in heavy response.

Jake charged Maugus, running straight for him. Maugus pulled back his sword and made a sudden dash.

"Sol Con-TROL" He bellowed, suddenly appearing right in front of Jake. A warping sword slash and his fist growing in enormous size with fire like lightning emitting all around. Launching him back into the rock again, Jake didn't move. His suite was toasted, and his feathers burnt.

Suki made a small gasp. . . but she cut it short. . .

For Maugus. . . had turned toward her

This was unlike anyone she had ever faced. A seasoned warrior who had cut down their ranks with ease and who wielded some sort of power like Chaos Control. Apparently driven from the Sol Emeralds, and now, she was all who was left.

She couldn't just. . . die!

In some sort of fearful effort, she fired two psychokinetic blades, much easier than trying to grab him. Maugus leaped, landing right in front of her, his arms making a stabbing motion whit his sword, but Suki jumped and shot over him, twisting back around and getting ready to grab the red beast. Maugus jumped and came down at her with his sword. The first swing missing- same for the second.

Suki began looking for ammo as she backed up. Paleness embodied her face as she realized just who she was fighting. Having finally found three lose rocks, she tossed them at him, they at least caused him to back up. But Maugus moved toward her once again. He jumped toward her in two stop motion. Suki finally felt like she had the timing down to grab him, as he landed his second leap, she did the motions.

But they didn't work.

Out of psychokenesis.

In a panic, she pulled the ice ring out of her back pocket and Maugus got closer and closer.

So close!

The ring burst into refreshing energies
that filled her power to the brim.

She pulled her arm back, walking backwards trying to defend herself. Maugus landed right in front of her, his hand behind his body, coming forward. . .

*stelch*

The blade pierced . . . through the other side. . and Suki. . . found her face 2 inches from his.

The yellow eyes burned into her's as she would begin to faint.

"Such will be the fate. . . of all those who serve a devil!" He stated boldly.

"A. . . devil?" She thought to herself?

*Twiiiiissssstttt* Maugus twisted the sword inside of Suki, but no pain entered her body. She knew that people would not feel pain till much longer and after the fact in situations like this, but now it was just delirious what was happening.

She started to fade away.

But the twisting motion made her eyes pop wide open.

Something was wrong.

The sword was twisting, but as it did, she felt it up against the outside of her skin .

It wasn't in her, it was never in her. The sword had punctured the far left side of her suite, slide across the surface of her skin and came out the other side of her uniform.

Quickly, she grabbed both Maugus, and his blade with her psychokinesis as separate objects, and pulled the sword out of her suite. Bringing it up in the air as high as she could bring herself to take it, she forced it down, picking up speed as it fell under her control. And Maugus, she placed in a leaned back position, hovering in the air just above the ground.

"AAAUUUUUUUHHHH" She yelled as the sword fell like a comet, and struck the heart of it's destination.

He laid there, but able to speak again now that the psychokinesis was no longer in effect around him.
But he didn't. His body began to make waves and slowly fade away, melting into the ground uttering only one word.

"heeeeellllllllll. . . . . . . "

Suki panted and started breathing heavily.

She collapsed in on her knees and her hands fell on top of them, keeping her stable after this winded battle.

Finally, her knees hit the ground. Her face continued to look at the place where Maugus had evaporated. Heavy sighs continuing to emit from her chest before she finally let it all out in one big sigh.

The dream crown piece lay in front of her feet, still tied to the necklace of the lavay monster. Suki leaned forward and scooped it up into her hands.

All this violence. . . for this.

A single point to be added to the parts that they had collected, and for a cause that even Jake didn't know the full extensions of.

She closed her eyes and her hair began moving as she thought she could hear the wind wispering in her ear. But it was like talking from another realm, talking that you understand is talking, but you don't know what they are actually saying.

The presence left her and her hair quite moving about. She opened her eyes and returned to the outside world once again, mind fully alert and pondering these things.

The extravagance for a single, minglistic piece of silver.

"The injured!" She though to herself as urgency came to her mind. Jake- and Narabot!

"Jake!" Suki yiped up as she came to his aid, up against the rock. "Are you okay?!?"

"Huh?" He said.

"ARE YOU OKAY?!?"

"Oh, uhhh. . . ." Jake hesitated for a moment.

"I just think. . ." He began.

"yeah?" Suki asked in concern as Jake started to catch his breath.

"I think. . . " He started again. ". . . . I've had enough for one day." He collapsed, and lost consciousness, his head resting in Suki's arms. This last comment made Suki kindof smile to herself.

It was just something like Jake would say.

Narabot on the other hand would require. . . a lot more assistance.

Even so, it was time to get home, and besides, Suki wasn't worried about Narabot much, he had plenty of spare parts available.

But in the end, it was time to go home, and celebrate. Keep on that smiling face just keep going.

That's what mami always said. Even when the hard times came.

She couldn't let the trama get to her.

It was time to move on.

--------------------------------

Authors discussion.

Well, this chapter turned out really good at the end I think, even though it took a while to get there. ONe thing I really enjoyed was the specs for the Latis's mobian militia. I never really liked really major human characters in Sonic fanfics unless it was chosen by Sega, and we do have a few good ones out there, like Maria. . and Grandpa Chuck from Sonic X. The problem with using human characters is keeping it about Sonic and Sonic characters. Hence you didn't see any human soldiers here, and probably won't see many, as the Latise is majority Mobian, though traditionally a few human have had higher up positions.

Perhaps you noticed this new little section I added here at the bottom, well, it's to encourage discussion after the fact actually. I mean, the Ficdoctor does it, so I should learn from him!

Other then that, I'd like to give you the name of the caped, lava echidna, his name is Agaut. I thought that I'd put that here since I didn't really have a place to do so later in the story.

Wow, the fanfic has steered clear of any canon characters two chapters in. But don't worry, Eggman is sure to make an appearance and cause trouble sooner or later. Oh wait, was that a spoiler.

If you want to ask questions, then feel free to do so below.

I'm considering adding a "character profile at the end of each fanfic to give you a better idea of each character introduced within this story. But I may not want to submit it down in stone just yet, you know what I mean?

One thing I like about this chapter, is I think that I went as far as I could as far as violence. I mean, it's a tricky thing to balance the reality, and sonicyness of a situation. I mean, Sonic games, and stories have had human die bloody deaths from gunshots, and blue hedgehogs simply lose all their rings and keep going.

My guess is mobians can just take a lot more hits than a human can, like, they have super bodies with apparently generate some kind of Aura when they get going really fast and such. I know, Maugus has a sword. Hey, would you like one in that situation? Once again I was thinking about the weapons that mobians would have. Only really high tech ones, or enchanted weapons would be really good I suppose, normal guns pretty much useless, since mobian skin is so strong, but hey, if you were the leader of an underground race of lava echidnas, wouldn't you be glad to have a black steel, enhanced sword to throw around?

It only makes sense to me.

Same for the mobian militia, only they use high tech weapons. I love to think of what Jake would look like in that black suite with the red markings showing his class and a red ring around his right wrist. It may not be as powerful as Shadows, but Every little bit helps.

I've always wondered how cannon rings, let alone RPG element rings where to the story aspect of the series, but so be it.

I like this one.

Any thoughts? Don't be shy!

So, go ahead and ask!

Oh, and the previous chapter can be viewed here: [link] https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=80157 [/link]

* * * * * * *
