What happens to downloaded games?

I apologize if this is a common question, or has been asked to death. Or even has a really obvious answer somewhere that I missed.

I was trying out some games, and I noticed they download the game. Which makes sense when thinking about it. Trying the game again, loaded it up faster..So I assume it's somewhere. But, I'm curious what happens to this game? Is it stored somewhere on your computer? Does it get deleted once you load up a different game? Is there a location I can go to to manually delete it? I'd be perfectly fine with it loading the game a bit slower each time, if it means not having it stored on my hard drive.

I just ask, because I don't really like having stuff downloaded to my computer that I can't find and delete. I don't have tons of room on my Hard drive as it is.

I don't think there is an alternative, but most file sizes are insignificantly small.

Ah, yep, there they all are. Thanks for that. It wasn't much to worry about. Just, like I said, I don't have a ton of room on my Hard Drive left, so I don't want to fill it was something that doesn't need to be there. In this case, the downloads folder was about 300mb, plus a "Roms" folder was also 300mb. I could imagine that going up pretty quick if I played more 16-bit and higher games.
