On September 15, 2014, a soda called SURGE returned to the US market after being discontinued for approximately 12 years. The soda, produced by Coca-Cola, was originally sold from 1996 to 2002. The taste of it... well, the best way of describing it was like Mountain Dew on steroids. The new batches of soda are currently in "test production" and can only be purchased on Amazon.com.

A Facebook group called the SURGE Movement got started in late 2011 (I myself joined in 2012), with the goal of bringing the soda back to market. Right now, the group has 152,000+ likes. 

Basically, SURGE embodies the spirit of the late 90s in liquid, drinkable form. Smash Mouth, Nintendo 64, The Angry Beavers, and everything else that made the 90s so great... drinking this magical elixir revitalizes those memories.

My shipment of 36 cans of the green stuff is to arrive tomorrow. Who else has some?

Well of course I have never heard of this since it ended when I was just 8 years old, so I wouldn't know what its like, but my favorite drink of all time is Mountain Dew, so anything similar to Mountain Dew is fine for me, and since you say its like Mointain Dew on steroids, then it sounds amazing and I would love to get my hands on itm

Oh! But I forgot to mention... whatever you do, don't buy from the resellers. Not only will you be paying obscene amounts of cash (double Coke's price or more), but it does nothing to help get Surge back on store shelves. Whut??? So you can only buy them from amazon or a few select sites? Wouldn't all the costs for shipping pretty much add up to that extra amount that you would buy at a reseller? I tried to buy a pack of cans of Mountain Dew but I decided against it because the shipping was about 20 dollars.

zanderlex : No, only on Amazon. But Amazon has a marketplace where you can re-sell items. For example, right now, it's out of stock from Coca-Cola, but if you visit the product page link in my first post, there are currently 7 people reselling their Surge, the cheapest case is going for more than $80. Coke's price is $14/case. See why it's worth it to wait?

Anyhow, I read about this in a magazine somewhere. I've never heard of Surge before this, but I think I might try a can if it comes in stores again and see if I like it.

It never came to the United Kingdom it seems, Otherwise i probably would have drank it at some point.. I'm always up for strong flavoured soda's especially ones that are citrus flavoured.... I might have to look into it to see if they ship to the United Kingdom but knowing my luck they won't which seems to be a common problem of not being American...

Oh well if it does not ship to here, I guess I'll stick with Irn Bru.. The most manliest and awesome of sodas.. It's also very good at staining things lol as it's bright orange.
