Trust points are something that you will get by the users who have a dotted line, solid line, or a combo of the two. You can get them by doing something that a trusted member, or above, likes. He will give them to you. If you get 5, you can give 1 Trust Point out, at 10 you can give 2 etc. You can lose them for doing something that a staff member doesn't like, but that doesn't happen as often.
