Pokemon. Six generations with a total of three starters from each gen, with the exception of also adding Eevee. So that's 19 possible starters.

Without a doubt, I would say that the best starter of all time will have to be Charmander, of course because it becomes Charizard, one of the strongest, coolest, and most powerful of them all. I doubt any other starter would even come close to Charmander in my opinion.

Thats easy. Squirtle because squirrel + turtle. That alone is enough to put Squirtle over the top.

Aside from that, squirtle can learn useful attacks like bite early on, can learn surf at any point, and can also learn ice moves, which is awesome to.

I dont care for all the added crap from after gen 2, that doesnt matter to me at all. Squirtle is a boss.

OSHAWOTT. wanna know why? i'll tell you why.

seriously, oshawott easily takes the top spot in my book for being useful on top of cute and adorable.

Mudkip. Why? ?


1.SO CUTE!
2.evolves in to a water and ground type SO OVERPOWERED
3.SO USEFUL?
4.It has a hidden ability called Damp which prevents self-destructing moves
5.Charizard can get completely wrecked by Mudkip

I love Bulbasaur that's the Pokemon i started off with when i first got Pokemon Red, so Bulbasaur rocks!

I love squirtle best since its a turtle and has great defense stats chose squritle as my first starter in pokemon blue. Blastoises Mega evolution is very good besides it looking very cool with those huge cannons.

I have played each generation of Pokémon not including X and Y as I do not have a 3DS yet.  

The best starter Pokémon for the first generation is, Charmander. When fully evolved into Charizard this Pokémon can beat down with its firepower and can also take to the air, providing you with the ability to not have a dedicated flying Pokémon.
The best in the second generation is,Totodile. A powerful Pokémon who can dish out punishment to your foes.
In the third it would be, Mudkip with his powerful water ground type combo.
In the forth, Piplup, wins out. Mostly because I think the penguin is awesome. 
Fifth generation I would have to chose, Oshawott, despite the fact I hate his final form.
When I play the sixth generation I will be choosing, Fennekin. 

Now that I have examined the best of each generation it is time to chose the best starter Pokémon of all time.
After careful consideration I would have to chose, Charmander. You can go wrong with the original greatest Pokémon. Out of every Pokémon that has come after none have taken the place of Charmander and Charizard. They will always hold a place in my heart. That is why The best starter Pokémon, will always be Charmander.

I will most defiantly go with Mudkip cause he is very cute and get's very strong if train him right he knows a lot of good moves like water, ground, and even ice type moves like i said if you train him correctly. Don't you agree with me

runner up would Squirtle

I would probably have to say that either mudkip or piplup are my favorite starters. I have always liked the water starters the most because they have great movepools and they usually have access to some ice moves that can counter their grass weakness. I like mudkip because swampert is just plain amazing, and I also like piplup because I really like Empoleon's typing and design. I like all of the starters because they each have their own quirks, the only one I don't really like is torterra because it is super slow and I don't really like the way it looks. I really hope that they keep making good starter pokemon in later games. 

Pokémon starters are important you can't start your journey without them. My favorite and the best starter for me is Mudkip it has an advantage on electric pokemon because it is also a ground type pokemon and a weakness. It is also a cute but when it evolves it becomes strong although it changes appearance, a better stats and a best pokemon to choose.

My favorite starter has to be Cyndaquil because it is really cute and as it evolves, it turns into a fiery beast. It even has fire bursting out from its back. How cool is it?

RickNakamura76 : My favorite starter of all time would definitely have to be Mudkip because when it comes to starters I normally pick the water type starter and out of all of them Mudkip is my favorite. Also it's fully evolved form Swampert is awesome.

I personally like Turtwig the best. Mostly, because it eventually evolves into a Torterra, my favorite grass type Pokemon of all.
