So New Super Mario Bros. Wii just came out.
For those who have the game, I'd like to know how the game was. The difficulty, levels, power ups, etc.
I don't own the game yet though so I can't really judge it thoroughly besides videos I've seen.

It looks alright. The game-play looks good especially in multilayer. The one thing that has me questioning is the difficulty.

I've have it and I'd say it's pretty good. I finished it just yesterday (besides bonus world), but thats because I played it a lot.

Some things I thought were bad in the game are: The multiplayer gets kinda annoying on intense levels, or when there isn't much room to stand. Micro shrooms are under used, there are only 4 boxes that you can get them from. There is no star coin battle, just coin battle (which you try to get the most coins in a level) and free for all. The Mega Mushrooms are not in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, though I'm not really disappointed about this since Mega Mushrooms are pretty much spam and have a tendency to ruin a level. There is no difference between the different colors of Yoshi, also you don't get to keep a Yoshi if you get it through the level, after you go down the flag and do your pose you hop the Yoshi and head for the castle, the Yoshi(s) wave goodbie.

The game is sort of like super mario world, like that there are some enemies and objects that you see in only one level and the koopa kids are the bosses (unlike New Super Mario Bros. for the DS) though the enemies don't look stupid like in super mario world.

Some things I thought were good in the game are: The carrying system, if you are by an object, player, or frozen enemy (you pick up koopa shells the normal way) you can pick it up by holding 1 and shaking the Wiimote, this really helps when you are in a tight area with a teammate or when there are light blocks in a dark area like some boo houses. There is a triple jump, but it is extremely hard to perform, even on perfectly flat land so its kinda spam. Bubbles, when you die on multi-player as long as everyone isn't dead you come back shortly in a bubble if another player pops it your back in, though if you press A you'll go into a bubble say you are about to die or are falling behind. the toad houses are nice because instead of picking a box its matching which is pretty fun, don't get a bowser or Koopa Kid. The super skills, at the princess's castle behind start in world one you can buy hint movies and super skills movies for star coins. The end boss is epic, unlike New super mario bros. for the DS,

Nobody's mentioned the shortcuts yet? There are secret exits in some of the levels which take you to a cannon. Reaching one of these will launch you forward three worlds. Utilizing the ones in worlds 2 and 5, my roommate and I managed to beat the game in a couple of hours without running out of lives once. (Though I did cut it close vs. Bowser. One life left several times, found a 1-up box that kept me in the game longer, and I end up pressing the switch at the end which ends the final boss.)

No one has mentioned diffuculty yet...in case anyone else needs something to talk about in this thread.

Difficulty: moderate. Single player is sorta frustrating because if you die, you have to restart from the midpoint or beginning of the level. If you have at least two players in the game, as long as one of you still lives, players can die and the level can continue. Just hope the other players don't free you from your bubble over a pit. But single player won't get you screwed by other players knocking you off the platform.

the difficulty, well lets just say when they mean this game is easy to play for non-gamers they mean 1st and possibly 2nd world.

Though I already have New Super Mario Bros on the DS, so why should I buy the new one?

I want 2 get this game but I dunno weather or not my mom forgets I owe her money
I basically want it cuz I am a mario fan

This person thinks that New Super Mario Bros Wii is a remake of the DS game. Wrong-o.

Anyways, this game I rate 9/10. The levels are good, but a lot of them use rotating platform, which can be a problem, but it isn't BAD, it's just a few levels could have been replaced with something more original.
The multiplayer is chaotic, harder than single player.

A great game to buy. Better then Super Mario Bros 1, 2, and tied with 3 if you aren't wearing your nostalgia goggles, but Super Mario World is better.
