When it comes to sports broadcasters, whether on the radio or on TV, everyone has a favorite who they like to either hear or watch as they call games for their team. Who are your favorites? I have two favorites, they are Howie Rose and Kevin Burkhardt.

Howie Rose is quite famous when it comes to New York sports, as he has done so much. For the Mets, Rose has called over 1500 games on TV and more than 1800 games on the Radio, and has been on the team through 2 playoff runs.

In Hockey, Rose has been a Radio and tv broadcaster for a few seasons and is known for calling game 7 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals between the Rangers and Devils. He has been one of the main TV broadcasters for the Islanders for 20 years, won two Sports Emmy's, and called two NHL All Star games

Kevin Burkhardt isn't as well known as Rose, but for 8 years has been the on field reporter for SNY during Mets games and had been pretty much loved all around. The game last night, which I was at was his last game with the Mets so there was a huge celebration.

Aside from the Mets, he has done play by play for the Dallas Cowboys for a few seasons as well as slect College Football games. At the start of the 2013 season, he joined NFL on FOX and beginiing in 2015, he will be a full time reporter for MLB on FOX and FOX SPorts 1.

Who are some of your favorites and what have they done?

I highly doubt that most people know the names of the broadcasters of their sports teams. What I always notice about the broadcasters who do the blue jays games is they always pronounce the city "Toronto", where the Toronto slang to pronounce the city sounds like "Terono", so you can completely tell that they arent from around here. The announcer who covers the leafs hockey games on sportsnet is pretty solid. His name is Joe Bowen, and he is from these parts, so it is always nice to have a home grown guy calling your games because he knows the team as well as every big leafs fan.

Dave Niehaus, the voice of the Mariners for many years, before he passed. Hands down, no questions asked.
As for football, my favorite has to be Phil Simms. He is just so hilarious when he does his * WHOOP * commentary on * WHOOP * highlights of the * WHOOP * games from the day. It is just too funny. And, he doesn't seem to show any favoritism towards any one team or division.

I think this is a great thread, because I was just thinking about this one the other day. Without a doubt in my mind, my favorite broadcaster is Cris Collinsworth. I make sure to catch the Sunday Night Football game every single week, just so I can hear that man talk about football and what's going on in the game he is calling. The only reason I bought Madden 14 was because of him. He talks about all teams, players, and coaches all on one level.

He is one of the greatest broadcasters of all time, in my opinion, and definitely the best football broadcaster currently out there.
