There is a big following of both games, and most (Or so I have heard) don't play both franchises. I wondered, of the people on vizzed who play one or both, which one do you like more?

I don't know which one I prefer, as I only own one, and I just got the game, so I can't tell which one is better. The game I have is from the Battlefield franchise. At this point I prefer Battlefield, due to cheaper prices. As even the first two Call of Duty games cost a lot of money. Whereas Battlefield 2, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2, cost only half of that. I have the game Battlefield Bad Company 2, and have only played a few minutes, not even an hour of the game...

So which one do you guys like, and why? Is it because of EA Games' mistake? Do you like the gameplay better? What is it?

Battleield is a clear winner.
Call of duty repackages the same game every year, they dont even bother with new textures most of the time.
I dont think they have ever updated the games engine since modern warfare 1 either. The developers even acknowledged each release is more of the same.
Incidentally, battlefield 3 was given away free on pc. Im yet to see call of duty given away likethat. They clutch on to every penny.

For this, I am going to have to go with Battlefield. I have never actually owned my own Call of Duty game, but i have played each of the last 6 or so games a lot, and even though I have played it a lot and really like it, I find Battlefield to be a lot more fun overall. I have played each of the last 3 Battlefield games for many many hours each and I still do, I haven't played a Call of Duty game maybe since February.

It's not just the games themselves that I like, I also really like the music, the theme song from Battlefield 2 has to be one of my 10 favorite video game songs of all time, though I only like the London Philharmonic version of the song.

Even though I don't play either of them anymore, I would choose Call of Duty without hesitation. I tried playing Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, and I thought both of them were absolutely horrible. Though I did like playing the story mode on both games.

But Call of Duty, in my opinion, is a way better all around game. They seem to incorporate more and more game modes with each new game. I can't really say the same for Battlefield, but that might be because I haven't played it enough. The Call of Duty game I thought was the best was the first Black Ops. I liked how the second Black Ops added the "extinction" game mode, but I still think the first one is better. The gameplay is just way too fast for me nowadays.

I've never reallylay BF before, but I'd choose CoD. It may be the same thing over and over (Thats why I only have MW3), but the multiplayer is very fun for me (Gun Game! Infected!).

Campaign for both is brutally short, 3 hours max.
Campaign for battlefield was not as interesting In my opinion.
Battlefield 4 campaign was better though.
Call of duty campaigns tend to be the same each game.

Both games are meant for online players.

Call of duty is for casual gamers, ridiculous perks, unrealistic deaths, its essentially a modern arcade shooter.
Battlefield 4 is a different beast, favouring realism.
I played battlefield 3, then 4. 4 Surprised me because they have made the guns far more realistic. Sniping is hard because the bullets drop over long distances now.
Also, In call of duty you can run around, in battlefield you have to play more strategically. If you just run around you will die every time.

It really depends whether you want a serious invested shooter, or a quick arcade one.

darthyoda : For Battlefield, I pretty much do Multiplayer the most. In fact, when it comes to Battlefield 3, I don't think I ever played anything other than multiplayer ever.  Before I reached Battlefield 3, I used to play the campaigns every once in a while, but then I simply gave up because playing online was a heck of a lot more fun. As for the 4th one, I played that one and beat it and I liked it, but still, multilayer for the 4th game was what I had liked the most.

To me, if a game has both campaign and multiplayer, no matter what game, the multiplayer is almost always more fun for me.
