Yes, I just finished dropping out of my statistics class because man was it crazy. Its like learning a new language, combined with math. Does that not sounds like the most horrible kind of school nightmare?

It did not help that my teacher had a russain accent, so understanding was made even more difficult. She also complicated things as much as possible. She made mean, median and mode look and sound like the hardest thing ever. I had to drop it because the class was one big wtf.

I took this at the college level, although a rather highly regarded college (not some community college), so I cant imagine how difficult it is at the university level. Sitting in that class just made me feel extremely stupid and frustrated. I used to be really god at math to, but this class, man was I over my head. I have to retake the class eventually because its a mandatory part of my curriculum, but I think Ill save it to just before Im ready to graduate so that maybe Ill only have a class or 2 left to take, instead of 4 others like I do now.

To those who are taking statistics in college or university, or will have to take it in the future, I wish you all the best of luck.

bobq : Meh, then I guess I was lucky, I was going to take Statistics, but back in High school because I thought it would be a good class to take after pre calc. At the end of my junior year I signed up for Stats and Astronomy, but then I ended up dropping both before my senior year began because I wanted to have a very short schedule of only 5 hours, even though those were two classes that I was very excited about.

If I can take stats finally now that I am in college, I will try to take it so I will take your warning and prepare myself for the worst.

bobq : Do you mean help so I can do good in the class if I do decide to take it, or help to run away from the class? I have never seen that many math related letters in one place before, and I had to take Trig 3 times, so I have seen a lot of that.

I don't know why I didn't take a math class as a Freshman in college, but once I go back to college in the Spring as a Sophomore, I will be changing my major to maybe economics, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to take a bunch of different math classes starting next year.
