   First off, here's the picture:

Here's a link   to an article about it, but I'll discuss a little bit on it.

Yes, this is a new model of the 3ds that seems to eliminate the
oh so loved circle pad pro. But that's not all, folks. This one features a ZL and ZR button on the back of the system. Nintendo also claims the 3d works from side views as well, so it sounds like the blur you get from moving just an inch on the other systems could be nearly eliminated. The other addition is a stronger CPU, so downloading games will be faster than before. And along with better battery life, this system will also have easy connectivity for Amiibo. The prices seem like they will be about $154 for the standard, and $181 for the XL version.

So, what do you guys think about this? First off, why the heck was this not originally put on the system? And to me, this seems like something Wii U + 3ds is brewing up now. Although, as cool as this all is, this will cause confusion and some problems for sure. Will companies just drop support for the standard 3ds'? Because if they were to do that, Nintendo might have quite a few angry fans on their hands. But also, once again, Nintendo's name department comes in. This seems like a weird choice for a name, so what will people who don't know the difference think about it? Whether they see it as a new system (if they've caught on to Nintendo's naming by slightly changing maybe) or can figure out it's more of a redesign, that we'll just have to wait for and see.

The only reason I'd want one of these is because I heard it will have Interchangeable Skins.

awesomeguy279 : I know what you mean but the "new" 3DS, but I'm guessing only some games will be made purposely for that version. Most of the upcoming games will work on the standard 3DS besides there'll probably be attachments for the 3DS that let you play games the use the extra buttons and analog circle pad.

awesomeguy279: Hopefully they don't do that. I already know that the Xenoblade port will be New 3ds only, although I don't think this will be the case too much. Something like the Resident Evil game was best with the Circle Pad Pro, but didn't require it. I'm assuming that's what we'll get here. I'm expecting this to sort of like the Gameboy Color to a lesser extent. Hopefully they don't make too many that are New 3ds exclusives, and maybe like the DSi, just maybe have tiny extras for the New 3ds. It would be best for it to be the same still, but it would be better than total exclusives.

Yeah, I read about this on Smashboards. I totally wanna get one. I have a regular, light blue 3DS that I got more than 2 years ago. Since then they've lowered the price and released an awesome 3DS XL that costs way less, which slightly ticks me off. Anyways, now talking about the features.

1. C-Stick: They're doing a c-stick? Seriously? People who want to use the c-stick on SSB4 just got lucky. I honestly never found the point of using the C-stick in Melee, but I guess it's cool.
2. Recolored and moved buttons: I think it's awesome how they are making the ABXY buttons colored similar to the SNES. Has no use, but it looks cool. Now the switched positions of buttons... I like the new position of the volume slide. But the start/select buttons? I honestly didn't like the DS's placement of those. The only good part about it is that you won't accidentally press the home button when trying to pause the game anymore (which probably no one did anyways). But contrary to all that I just said, I honestly don't care that the buttons are placed there.
3. Better 3D: This is awesome. It tracks
eye movement?!! That's amazing! Not too many people use the 3D feature because it causes eyestrain and headaches, and for me it never seemed very 3D in the first place. Probably the only game that actually did look 3D to me was Super Mario 3D Land. With the eye movement thing making it even more 3D... that's pretty awesome.

I won't be getting one as I have no interest in Xenoblade and I hope the 3DS, XL and 2DS won't be abandoned but I could see them doing so. The name is stupid and companies will have a hard time telling people what the difference is. This is one reason why the Wii U hasn't done so well. Some people still think it is an add on.

I'd say I'm a bit ticked off. I got my blue Pokemon X and Y themed 3DS XL a year ago, and then they announce the new 3DS.

Actually, that name is stupid. I shall now refer to it as the Super 3DS.

I'll get a Super 3DS XL eventually, hopefully well before Nintendo announces a new handheld like a 4DS or something. If I'm correct, they never gave a non-yen price, so, for now, it doesn't seem to have a release outside of Japan... yet. So I guess that'll give us time before it IS released outside of Japan.

I was thinking about trying out Xenoblade since Shulk is in Smash 4, but from what I hear, it's like 90 hours long? That's just WAY too long for me. I would like to feel accomplished after a few hours of gameplay, not feel like I'm only a 16th of the way done. If for some reason, a Majora's Mask remake comes out on the Super 3DS, AND it comes in a bundle with a Majora's Mask-themed Super 3DS XL, I would probably preorder that stuff... or Bravely Second. I honestly hope that Bravely Second has a better near-end game than the original, because besides that, I loved Bravely Default. I also hope it comes to the states/everywhere else... it sold well enough to warrant it...

At least the features look pretty cool, and if the price is correct, it costs less than the 3DS XL (which is $199.99 IIRC) but I question if I can still use a regular SD card, because I can't seem to see a slot for a regular-sized SD card.

fusionaceblus :  If you take the back panel off from the system, there is a Micro SD slot. I have a ton of downloaded games on my blue 3DS XL so it looks like it's going to be a pain to transfer them over from a SD card to a Micro one ! I might get the XL version of it but, I just got my 3DS XL only a year ago so I'll probably wait awhile until I see some bundle that's cheaper in 2015.

Luckily for me, I sold the 3DS that I got for christmas, so there will be no slapping in my face. Once the new Pokemon game was announced, I told myself I should get another one, so I'm kind of lucky that this was announced before I went out and bought one.

This is very cool, but I just hope that this does not affect the "3DS" game library. What I mean is that if they start making games that will only work for the new 3DS. This will be a very disappointing thing from Nintendo. I would love to play Xenoblade Chronicles on my 3DS, but if it will only work on the new 3DS, I would just not care for 3DS anymore. I hope they are going to make it fair for us 3DS users.

I'm importing one from Japan. I'll get extra perks! I'm also going to get a Japanese Pokemon OR/AS and set the language to English to get Japan-only events.

so I was just looking this up and I came across something odd, are they actually plan on oficially naming the new 3ds what most sites say they are? The New Nintendo 3DS. Personally, I think that's the worst name a system can use, even if its 100% true, but I'm hoping that this is just a joke rumor and that they actually use a decent name.

zanderlex: I'm pretty sure it's going to be the "New 3ds". I think it already has, or is at least about to release already in Japan. Yeah, when you have a name will be more confusing to parents that don't know a thing about video games than the 3ds to the ds and the Wii U to the Wii combined, you've gotta get some new people coming up with the system names.
After some thought, and seeing general response from people, this seems like it will sell pretty well, although still probably will have a good amount of haters because it was out of nowhere. Still, without a release date for any other regions, I'm sure the 3ds isn't going anywhere soon.

Actually Japan gets it October 11, and Australia gets it November 21. A USA/EU release will be in 2015.

Farway : Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I saw a video with people talking about hands on with it in Japan, so I thought it would a little earlier than that. Luckily, from what I saw from that, they're really impressed with the 2nd stick. They said it felt good, and the whole thing as a whole was nice. The only thing about it I'm not fond of is the Start/ Select buttons. I loved how I was able to push Select with my left hand on Mario Kart without having to remove the gas, and I just thought they felt really good there, but oh well.

Conversation at Gamestop:

Customer: I'd like to get a New 3DS for my son.
Employee: Certainly! Do you mean a new New 3DS or a new 3DS?
Customer: Wut? I just wanna get a New 3DS for my son. That's what he asked for.
Employee: OK. I can give that to you. (gives new 3DS)

Months later, on the child's birthday:

Father: I got you a new 3ds! Surprise!
Child: *cries*

BTW, I totally borrowed this from an article I read (not exactly, though). I don't remember which one.

Despite the confusion, I think the New 3DS will be awesome. I was on the ropes about it for a while (and still am somewhat, especially regarding the c-stick), I am more convinced that it is a worthwhile thing to have now.

awesomeguy279 : Well, look at me, I just a 3DS XL a couple months ago, (in July), so that was a little bit of a slap to, but they did say that it won't be in North America and Europe until Q2 2015, so nothing to really miss out on, and I didn't want to wait to own one. The only way I'll own a new system of the same kind is if the other one breaks (which has happened with other consoles/handhelds I owned).

Marcmoney : That is a good point, they already have issues with selling the Wii U (not doing too good) and the 3DS is the system that is keeping them alive and if they screw up by selling 3DS games for only the New 3DS, that will indeed hurt Nintendo big time.

IgorBird122 : Well here is the thing, all I can think of is that they will be making games only for the new 3DS. Why would they make something like this? To do that. This is going to be the biggest mistake of their lives.

I can't even control the two joysticks one modern controllers... so I'm not impressed with the New 3DS like everyone else seems to be. Besides, consoles are too expensive to be replacing every time a company designs a new one.  I'm satisfied with the ones I have, especially since I don't get to play them that often.

Coloring and moving the buttons is CERTAINLY not worth buying a new console for, imo.

So the only new features I'd love is the improved 3D. However, the 3D hurts my eyes and I usually turn it off.
