With so many video games out there, there are always ones which stand out with either gratuitous violence or a shocking story. However, it does not have to be violent or shocking. Anything from an epic song to a plot twist that makes you want to destroy the game is welcome.

My personal most shocking moment was when Celes Chere threw herself off a cliff in Final Fantasy VI after Cid died.

Mortal Kombats violence was just awesome back in the day. The old school mortal kombat not these new ones. Falling into a pit of spikes with a bunch of blood and body parts all over

As for music Zelda & Goldeneye probably have one of the best soundtracks in gaming ever

One of the games that pissed me off was Power Stone 2, very short game I felt ripped off after beating it in a day.

I'd say the most shocking for me would be when that old lady at the beginning of Tales of Symphonia turned into that weird creature & you had to kill her. I felt so bad. The story in that game was really sad.

I think any of the plot twists on the Metal Gear Solid games left the best impressions on me. Or the story of Dirg of Cerberus, it was awesome to know exactly how Vincent came to be who he was.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Ending Spoilers:

Spoiler:
In Metal Gear Solid 4, Solid Snake went into a hall that had hundreds of microwaves(the heater in a microwave, not an actual microwave) and had spikes on each end of them that, if touched, would sting you something horrible. After doing that, Snake was nearly dead. Then Liquid Ocelot came and injected Snake with some medicine, and they started fighting.

Sum it up: Snake goes through a hall with many microwaves nearly giving him heat stroke, got shocked to heck and back from electric spikes, and still got up and fought Liquid Ocelot. OH YEAH!

I would have to say Goosebumps. It was a movie based game and it hit more to hope. I can still quote that game and I haven't played it since I was little.

One of the most shocking video game plot twists for me was in the Fallout 3 DLC The Pitt, discovering that the cure for the radiation was actually a baby. I agonized over that decision for some time before finally settling on kidnapping the kid.
