For sure! In fact, believe it or not, I find metal to be the the most relaxing among others . Though nowadays, my old favorites, mainly Pantera and Metallica, aren't in sync with my current motivations so I rarely listen to music anymore because I think the Christian metal bands aren't as good albeit with their lyrics .

Seventh Angel

Take out those bands that try to act metal, and we've got a land to explore when it comes to Christian metal. Many of these bands were ignored. I happen to be a fan of only Seventh Angel. I find Believe okay, but not my style. I like the sorrowful lyrics of Seventh Angel better. It sounds so much better.

Also, if you like doom metal, you're pretty much in luck. Many bands use Christian imagery, and are very good. Goatsnake isn't one of those bands that use Christian anything, but I highly recommend them to those who like harmonica in their metal.

I honestly like metalcore (mix of metal and hardcore elements). Melodic metalcore is my fav, but just straight metalcore is fine too.

Industrial's pretty good too. I like Rammstien alot.

I listen to Megadeth the most, but I also listen to Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax

I love metal. Especially death metal like Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death and nu metal like Korn. I also love classic metal like Black Sabbath.

Thrash Metal, Progressive Metal, Heavy Metal... I like a wide range of metal.

Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Machine Head, Flotsam and Jetsam, Alice in Chains (not as metal but awesome nonetheless), Tool, Sepultura, God Smack.... The list goes on and on.

I used to like metal a lot. Not really the new stuff out there, but like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Sepultura, Slayer, etc. Those 4 are really the only ones that I listen to anymore. Metallica was my favourite band for a long time. It's scary, for a while, they were the only music that I would/could listen to. I was obsessed.

Has anyone else heard of Blood Stain Child? They're a melodic death metal band from Japan. I've really gotten into them lately.

Out of all my music, most of it is metal. However, metal is a broader genre than many people think. I'm not too knowledgeable about music in general, so the following is my opinion.
I've always liked metal towards the "hard rock" end of the spectrum. It basically sounds like hard rock, but has a distinct metal sound with faster and heavier guitar. Then there's Heavy Metal, and As I Lay Dying is about the heaviest I can tolerate. Past that, it seems to devolve into rapid bass-pedal and indiscernible lyrics barked into my ear.
Most of my metal falls right in between those two explanations, such as Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Bullet for My Valentine, Three Days Grace, etc. (I can't remember all of them...)
On another note, don't make this thread stupid. We don't need people making bullcrap "You're not a real metal fan" accusations.

Folk and viking metal...makes you bang your head to awesome bass AND the sounds of flutes

The only metal bands I really like are iron maiden, metallica, megadeth, and black sabbath.

I use to love metal music. When i was a young teen, i use to dress goth and jam heavy metal. I still listen to it, just not much anymore. Slipknot or mudvayne is probably my favortie metal. The only ones i really listen to anymore. Some of the older metal is awesome. Ozzy, metallica, pantera. I like hard rock alot more then metal though.

I love listening to metal music, it's just so addictive when done good. My favorite genre of metal is symphonic metal (Epica, Galneryus, Xandria, Yousei Teikoku, Apocalyptica, Nightwish, Sirenia, Nemesea, and others), the opera-like singing goes really well with the guitars in my opinion. I do also listen to power metal, speed metal, thrash metal, melodic death metal, industrial metal, nu metal, heavy metal, progressive metal, metalcore, hardcore punk, gothic metal, alternative metal, and other genres that mix of the listed.
