Controls don't work for GameBoy Color.

I've tried to play a bunch of old Pokémon games for the GameBoy Color but none of the controls work. I can't even get past the opening menu because I can't press the A button. The plugin works totally fine on every other game system I've tried so I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work for the GameBoy Color. I'm using Firefox, one of the recommended browsers, so it shouldn't be a problem. Neither of the plugin things work properly on any GameBoy Color game. Advice?
