If you do NOT have a tattoo (like me) and you wanted to get one, what would you want done, and where on your body would you put it? I created this thread because I am thinking of getting a tattoo, and I just need some ideas of one. I already have a couple in mind, but I'm seeing if anyone else can put a better idea in my head.

If I get one, I want a big husky head on my back. The mouth on the husky would be opened just a little bit, just enough to show its sharp teeth. I think that would be pretty cool. That's just one of my ideas. If someone suggests something that sounds cooler to me, I will seriously consider it for myself.

What and where would you want your tattoo?

I currently have 3 tattoos. One I am going to get covered up, the other one I am going to get a chest / half sleeve revolving around it, and then there is my favorite one, my military one. You might think it is common, but it is not; it is highly unique. If you take a closer look, there are 2 boots, not 1. Also, there are 2 helmets, not 1. The 2 helmets and 2 boots symbolize my 2 Grandfathers who fought in wars, being World War 2 and the Vietnam War. They both survived, but when I was 14 or 15, they both died within a few months of each other. One of the helmets has a card in it, the Ace of Spades. That was my Grandfather's Card in Vietnam. The other helmet is from World War 2.

I know of 2 unique designs that I still want. I want a back piece that is a spine, running along my spine. Near the top, it morphs into demonic wings that run along my should blades. I have not decided if I want the angel wings to look like they are fighting for control over the demonic wings,or if it will be one wing is angelic, and the other will be demonic. Lately, I have been thinking that the angelic wings will look like they are over taking the demonic wings.

Another tattoo I want is one that starts at the top of my right foot, wraps around my leg, and ends somewhere up near the lower part of my calf, maybe middle. More than likely, it will be a dragon. I feel that dragons are majestic creatures, and are highly thought of negatively, which I find extremely disturbing. They are often misconstrued, the way I see it. I can relate to them. People look at me, and I feel like they judge me for whatever reason. That is why it will be a dragon. But, the reason it will be coiled and wrapping around my leg is to represent the constant struggle that I have gone through all of my life through various things.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them.

thing1 : That is a cool looking tattoo, no doubt. Sadly, I don't have any family members that were in the military, except for my grandfather (on my mom's side). He was in the Navy for all of 2 years. I don't know how or why he was only in for 2 years, but he talks about it like he was in it forever. That kind of irritates me.

Anyways, the other 2 ideas you had definitely sound very cool. I don't hate dragons, but I'm no big fan of them. I would take your idea and make the dragon a viper or some kind of snake instead. I think that may look pretty good. Cool ideas nonetheless, though.

Well, I would have gotten a Falcons tattoo if they would have went on to win Super Bowl
XLVII. No one really believed I would have done it anyway even if they
did in fact win the Super Bowl that year but they are SO wrong. The
tattoo would have been on the side of my left arm and up near the
shoulder. It would state the Atlanta Falcons team emblem with the characters "Super Bowl XLVII" below it. I got the idea from a football commercial I saw that was talking about 'what would you do if your team
won the Super Bowl.' I remember seeing a guy that had a Pittsburgh
Steelers tattoo off his shoulder and it had the emblem with all Super
Bowls that they have won so far (a total of six). Since, they did not
win the Super Bowl that year I obviously did not get the tattoo, but it
is still something I would consider doing if they would just win the
Super Bowl... Just Once!

If I can get a tattoo it would be on my back. I would get a tattoo of Jen's tattoo from the PS2 game Primal. I have always loved that tattoo when I was playing this game back than. I still like it and I think it would look nice on my back, might be kind of plain though. As long as I like it doesn't matter what other people think.

Here's the tattoo on Jen's back:

cnw64 : I vaguely remember playing that game. I think one of my friends had it and I only played it for a little bit, but she definitely looks familiar. That's a cool looking tattoo...and that's something else I can do. Go through most (or all) of my games and try to seek out cool tattoos. I hadn't even thought of that.

Kruzer : Yes, that would have been awesome. Put the Falcons symbol in the middle of my back, put the trophy on top, and the XLVII on the bottom...yeah, cool as hell. Too bad we'll have to wait at least another year...

I have tattoos.  Does that mean I'm not eligible to participate in the conversation?  I would think someone who has experience would be the person to talk to over others who haven't been there before.

It should be something you know in your bones you want.  It was to be completely relevant to your life and experiences.  Don't get one just to have a tattoo.  That cheapens the experience and the meaning.  Get something that you can own the next thirty years.

Example: I was in the Marine Corps for six years.  I have my tattoos from that.  I'm from Hawaii.  I have my tattoos from there.  Those are things that made me what I am today and I carry them proudly.  It's not just a pretty little design I liked in the window of a store one day while I was shopping at Hot Topic.

warmaker : I doesn't matter if you already have a tattoo or not. If you have a tattoo, then explain what you have and where it is. I guess I should've specified a little better. However, I would rather have someone that does NOT have a tattoo tell me where and what they would like to have, because they'll be in the same boat as me. But it is also good for people who have one already to tell me what they have, because that will put more ideas in my head, and give me more options. Most people have tattoos that tell stories of their life or places they've been. I just want one just to have one.

Id I were to get a big tattoo, or any kind of tattoo for that matter, I would get a full arm tattoo of Edward Elric's Automail arm. I hear that a friend of mine is going to get one like that, and that makes me really interested to see if I can get one done like that as well, one day. Until then, my skin is tattoo free.

I would never ever get a tattoo. First, I think they look stupid, especially once you get older. Second, they are permanent. Third, I am deathly afraid of needles. However if I was going to get a tattoo, I think I would get something small on my upper arm. Maybe an Islanders logo or a Yankees logo or something.

tgags123 : Technically, I never want one either. But my wife has recently said that she would like to get one. And if she does get one, she wants me to get one, too. I completely understand that if I get one, I'll have it for the rest of my life. So if I eventually get one, its going to be big and its going to look cool. It will be worth however much I will pay for it.

pacman1755 : I think that would be cool, too. But yeah, I don't have a tattoo either...yet.
