You can't leave your team and join another team, otherwise your team will be left with no one and we'll have a dead team floating around for the entire tournament. What you should do instead is, find someone to replace your teammate that isn't participating.

Davideo7 : Tie? Check week 3 thread and you'll see I've been trying to get my team match going since day 1 and kept trying to get the other team to play, but our opponents wouldn't communicate. It is unfair to declare that as a tie because of lack of communication of the opponents, we should get the win.

mvhupsel : Didn't you read the new rule I added last week? I let everyone know of it:

"Thursday at 9 PM central time is the default matchup time each week. If you can't schedule a time to play against your weekly opponent before the default matchup time, then you are expected to play at that time and if one of the teams fail to show up at that time, that team loses the matchup (and the matchup ends in a tie if both fail to show up at that time). Remember, the default time is only used if both teams can't come up with an agreement on a time to play the matchup. "

Davideo7 : I did see the rule (even though no one summoned me nor did I get a notification, I simply checked by myself). The thing is, Seishiro Leonhart DID reply to one of my posts and even summoned you to the thread to let you know Mega Mewtwo X wasn't active. But that was AFTER Thursday (24th of July, his last reply was on 25th of July). Afterwards we messaged him, but he didn't reply.

I hope you understand that there was nothing Koda and I could do on this situation, and agree that a tie under these circumstances is just plain unfair.

This really upset my partner since we tried our best to communicate with the other team while they put in minimal effort. We shouldn't be penalized for the other teams unwillingness to cooperate. With this rule I could just tell the other team I don't have any free time while I know they can't make it on a 9 PM Thursday. I message them and say we will have our match on the default time thus screwing over the other team while my team would win by default. I don't see how this could be fair.

Stuff like this makes me want to stop doing these, there's always problems that can't be settled.

Davideo7 : For clarification, please don't get me wrong, I didn't contest the decision because of 1 single point, but the reason for that instead. I also understand there are more problems than things like that and since you organize these tournaments mostly by yourself, the responsibility falls on your shoulders, but in all honesty I don't see why this specific kind of situation HAS to be a problem to begin with, when the people that actually care and enjoy these tournaments don't tend to cause such kind of trouble (quite the contrary I'd say). Penalizing those who don't deserve because of other people's mistakes is not gonna solve anything, nor be fair... Quite the opposite in fact.

No need to take any actions, leave things as they are. I'm speaking for myself here, but from now on I'll have to take my own measures as to make sure me and Koda are not prejudiced again, and I intend to wholeheartedly take advantage of rules and circumstances to our favor this moment onwards, no matter what will be the outcome to others, since the results from others actions towards us has apparently no value either.

thing1 : I saw your request for having lilythetigerkity join your team but she's already on a team. If I merged you guys to a single team then that'll leave a team with no one on it. Also, there is no team renaming, sorry.

mvhupsel : I know it's my responsibility but I can only invest so much time into dealing with stuff in this tournament. Maybe next tournament I'll find someone else to host it. Try hosting a tournament, it's a lot more stressful and time consuming than you would think.

Davideo7 : I didn't even want to go back to this topic but after seeing your reply I feel like you didn't understand things at all. I'll make everything short if that was the problem. As I said before, it's understandable that you have more things to take care of, but that alone doesn't justifies an attitude that's unsportsmanlike and clearly unfair. That's why I complained and it's not as if I was expecting an attitude that favored me, I would be fine if some concern was showed, but instead I got indifference, which made me upset if considering the situation.

But hey, the world keeps spinning, lesson learned, shouldn't trust that other people will do what's correct just because I try to. This is a competition after all, it's pointless to be nice, so I might as well stop trying to be.
