So I guess I've been trying some online dating and even this is hard for me... I don't know how to approach a girl online much less in person but I guess I can try this. I really need some help with this. Just trying to send a girl a message makes me nervous and my heart beats really fast. How should I approach a girl online?

The interesting thing about online relationships is the rejection is done in written word.  It can't hurt nearly as much as a girl saying no to your face.  It's anonymous so you can't really take anything personally.

Try something simple, polite, and straight to the point.

"Hi, there!

I saw your profile and you seem interesting.  Can you tell me a little more about yourself?

Have a good day.  Thanks"

It's clean, simple, to the point, and it's not flattering or fake.  I think a trick to online dating is the volume of people you start talking to.  When you start conversations with a bunch of girls, you'll get over the butterflies and it becomes easier.  You are going to get rejected.  You'll have girls say no.  It's nothing bad and it's a learning experience.  Look at what you're messaging them and make corrections and adjustments.  Don't go into a  long spiel the first or second time you talk.  As conversation develops, you can start talking more and more.

They're just as nervous and uncertain as you are.  Girls are not cool, calm, collected, and in perfect control of their lives either.  They have different worries but they are just as nervous as you.

Go get 'em!
