Megaman Battle Network is probably one of the first games on the Gameboy Advanced that I've played. As a kid I adored the show and was displeased when it came to an end. It was quite a bad end too. This game has a unique style of game play to it and integrates quite a bit of strategy to the gameplay and not just pure power and leveling up. It's part of the reason why I love it. I enjoy being put in a tight spot and you having to think your way out of it and turn the tide of battle. Aside from turn based RPG's not many games can integrate strategy to it.

The protagonists are Lan and Megaman. They live in a world with net navis who live in peoples PET's (personal terminals). They have the ability to jack in to the cyber net which is virtual city on the internet. But the best feature by far is cyber battles. Cyber battles can take place between viruses and other net navis.

The playing area in a battle is a 3x6 grid in which your character and enemy each has a 3x3 area for themselves. You have the ability to use your default buster to fire at the enemy while they use their special attacks. The enemies vary from mettaurs to boomers. You also have the ability to create a custom chip library in which you can use in battle. These chips give you special powers like cyber swords or canons. One lucky chip can be the difference between victory and defeat.

However the best battles take place between other net navis. Each net Navi has their own weaknesses, strengths and special moves. You have to use your chips at your disposal and your quick thinking to exploit their weaknesses and attack when they have the perfect opportunity.

My favourite enemy is no doubt Protoman. Not only is he my favourite character he also lives up to the standards as he did in the show. He deals some major damage if you slip up and is also hard to get a hit on as well. He is one of the few navis who are Megaman's equal.

Aside from battling I also enjoy the puzzles and tasks you have to do outside of battle. You explore a large area of the net and also visit different areas in DenTech city. You can find different net navis to battle as well.

Megaman Battle Network 4 is probably my favourite game in the franchise. It's more enjoyable due to the fact that you can enter tournaments and fight some amazing new net navis giving you more challenges.

Anyone who hasn't played this game and is a fan of the Megaman NT Warrior show have to play this.

You've got me wanting to do a full run-through of the series now...Battle Network 4 is probably my least fave, tbh.  It's been a while, tho, and my tastes have changed.  MMBN5 was my favorite for a while, now MMBN3 is my favorite.

Yeaaah MMBN! Lan: "Battle Routine, set. Megaman: Execute!" DS sound effect.

This series is by far the my favorite in the whole megaman franchise, and like what you said about it....The gameplay is totally unique and most importantly for me....it can be hard...REALLY HARD (damn you bass till eternity!).

Also guys, is it just me? or do you spend time customizing chips more than the time you battle enemies like me?

Favorite character? Hmmm, not an easy question to me......well it's gatta be.....Searchman! Yea that Navi! His rifle just shoots through invisible enemies which is awesome when dueling with my pesky friends.

I've also played through the whole series (except 4), and gatta say that MMBN 5 is my favorite, I even have bought the DS version.

Speaking of which have any of you heard of Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation? Or MMBN Chip Challenge (actually, I don't recommend this game...but you can give it a try tho)?
