What about people who say 'lol' instead of actually laughing when you talk to them. I have a friend who does this and sometimes its hard to tell if they actually think its funny or being sarcastic

Heh, some people have gotten so attached to the internet that they speak in abbreviations. It's why I advocate using correct grammar in posts and limiting the use of abbreviations. Plus, good grammar means more words in your post, which for here could translate to more Viz.
