Muk, the sinister Sludge Pokémon, is definitely my favorite 'mon in the series - it's an excellent fighter stat-wise, it's menacing and it's made of pure pollution, what else could you possibly want?

However, I'm very unsatisfied with how the franchise's lore treats it. Not because of it's frequent depictions as a villain (it IS a living biohazard, after all!), but rather because of how little information we currently have on the species in general. The two things that trouble my mind the most when thinking about it is 1. how it attacks and 2. it's typical personality.

1. Since it has an absolutely huge mouth and a tendency to gobble all kinds of filth through it, I presume Muks use a variety of toxic vomits and burps to attack it's opponents (except for a few attacks, like Mud-Slap and Poison Jab). However, since I've never watched the anime and there is absolutely no official art depicting the Sludge Pokémon in battle, I'm still doubtful about this fact. Is it true, or Muks tend to use all parts of their... er... bodies equally?

2. Pokémon personalities is a little more in-depth matter usually left open for interpretation, but I'll ask my question here anyways. I've read somewhere (I don't remember where, exactly) that Muks, even with their menacing appearance and even more menacing powers, are relatively peaceful, settling only in previously polluted places (mostly rivers, lakes and sewers), controlling their bodies to pollute as little as possible and only messing with other 'mons and humans if they mess with them first. They'll only pollute the environment on purpose if their habitat is in risk of being cleaned up, in an attempt to drive off intruders, making it even filthier as a bonus. Are all of these facts true? If my memory doesn't fail me, I got this information on a pokémon wiki, but it got edited out soon after I read it.

So, enlighten me about the dangerous Sludge Pokémon? If so, thanks in advance!~

1. I believe Muk attacks through it's mouth, but also by slamming itself into it's opponent. Not really sure though.

2. I am not sure. From what I have heard/read, Muk is kind of a grumpy Pokemon, but not exactly violent. I believe he tends to mind his own business unless threatened.
