I cannot connect to anything basically

I cannot connect to anything that requires 2 people. Like when I tried to get on dueling network it just froze up while the other person was playing. I could still talk to them though.
 
I also cannot connect to chat so I am not sure what is going on.
 
Has this ever happened to anyone else and does anyone know how to fix this?
 
I know I do not have a good description but I do not know what is going on it is like I start to connect and then I lose connection in the middle of it.

awesomeguy279 : Check your firewall. That was the problem when it happened for me. Just google your default gateway address, type in in your address bar, the login is usually admin for the username and admin for the password (sometimes password for the password). You can either find and allow the connections that don't work for you or you can set your firewall to allow HTML (which was what I did, but your problem may be different).

TheFadedWarrior : I went to my firewall and it says that guest and public networks are not turned on but it also says my settings are being managed by my virus safety provider. So now I have to figure out how to turn my public networks on I think at least.
