unfortunately, it seems that those who should know most if not everything about the RGR plugin, dont actually know much about it besides the fact that you can play games with it.

ALL save files are located at
C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginyour user number will be here console is here Saves

just like ALL roms you download can be found at...
C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginRoms
as well as
C:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginDownloads

for some reason, anything you download(yes, every game you play HAS to be downloaded.) gets saved 2, sometimes 3 or 4 times in different places. every single emulator on this site used to be saved with the save data, but that seems to have changed and now it just stores the emulators config files on your computer.

PLEASE  update the disclaimer/help section to display ACCURATE information.

this is not the first time i have brought these sort of issues up. the false belief that what were doing is legal in any way, and that we arent downloading files left and right, needs to stop. these sort of outright lies, or pure ignorance of your own system, can lead to very serious problems as most of the users here are children, and their parents might not want them downloading files(even though everything you do on the internet is downloading files), or you know, committing felonies. like every single one of us does EVERY single time we play nearly any game on this website.

Thought everyone by now knew the FAQ and Help stuff was outdated?
But people have offered to update FAQ and stuff for David but he hasn't let them.
So it all a matter on David actually updating everything till all of it shows correct information. So for now Help should be ignored unless answered through forums.

Umm I'm pretty sure everyone knows all of that stuff (including me and I'm a newbie), but it is probably not a good idea to publicize it like that... could lead to lots of trouble for you...

What 2SedinsNoCups said. Pretty much everyone knows that. In fact, tRIUNE even tells people to go in and delete the ROM when there is an update to a game so that you can play the updated version instead.

What it really comes down to is if you want to play games or not. There is no "legal" way to do it. If you want to do it then do it, if you don't then don't. (By the way, you are exaggerating a lot. I would hardly call it a felony, and I doubt that the police (or whoever deals with this kind of stuff) cares that you illegally played an old video game from 1988.)

you people seem to miss the VERY important aspects of the illegal activities partaken by, and touted as legal by, the owner of this site. these things NEED to be updated. defending the false statements and outright lies by saying "lol errbody knows that its not legal" is idiotic, and obviously not true because there are still threads made occasionally, and little kids asking, if this IS actually legal. and every single time, people ignorantly tell these kids that it is, when in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM IS IT.

theres this little thing called honesty. it goes a long way. and from what ive seen, david practices this in a very sparing amount, and gives even less of a care about it. these things arent "outdated" they are outright lies that have been stated for quite some time, and have always been lies.

as for "leading to trouble" well guess what? so can this kind of lying. it can easily lead to a class action law suit, to criminal charges being filed against the owner and possibly some administrators of the site, and guess what? pretty much anybody here can start the process necessary for this to be so. because lying to your userbase and telling them they are NOT downloading things when they in fact are, is in fact highly illegal.

oh yeah. and copyright infringement is ALWAYS a felony. and most, if not every, game here is exactly that.  so yeah, you definitely cannot argue that, or you have no idea what copyright infringement is.

I don't think it's not that David doesn't care about legalities and stuff, but it's rather that it's currently difficult for him to do so right now.

I would assume that to make a flawless FAQ about the RGR, then one would need to hire a lawyer to write up a very good statement. Despite all the donations he received for Vizzed, he's still struggling trying to pay off the monthly fees for it.

Moreover, David pretty much has other priorities, which is pretty troublesome since he's basically the only one who can change the FAQ. However, I think he could change his priorities around to make the FAQ and Help Center at the top of the list if people show enough interest in it. He would have to work with very limited resources, though.

Or you know, you could always PM him directly expressing how you feel about the misleading information along with the consequences that come with it. Even if it takes him a while to get to your message, he would read it sooner or later.

Mistress : did that at the beginning of the year. since then there have been parts of the "disclaimer" removed, but nothing actually updated to display accurate information. i brought up most of my stated points herein, and you dont need a lawyer to understand the law, you just need to spend 10 minutes reading about said la(s)

Of course, it doesn't take a lawyer to understand the law. But it probably takes someone with experience or professional skills to be able to write up an accurate disclaimer that's favorable to the situation. You'd be surprise at how difficult it would actually be for some people.

If you believe that you could do it, then I won't object to that.

In fact, I would think it is because he doesn't know what to write in his disclaimer is the reason why he's putting it off. I could be wrong, but it seems possible.

I have been concerned about the lack of update of the FAQ and Help Center myself, but it went to the back of my mind when I noticed that it doesn't really have the attention of most people. I'm always up for a preventative measure, though.

Mistress : in all honesty, a disclaimer is pointless except to inform users that their actions are in fact illegal. or maybe to say that david isnt responsible for what we post. i could quite easily write an accurate disclaimer and fix the faq, but  see, accurate would involve informing people that they, and david, are partaking in illegal action, and at any point in time (as unlikely as it is) you can get your door kicked down by the feds, and tossed into a prison with the quickness. not something most people want to tell their userbase.

i think the best way to go about it would simply be to state that downloading roms is not legal in any way, but the likelyhood of legal action taken against users is highly unlikely based on past performance. that and just saying "yes, you have to download the games to play them" instead of "no, you dont download anything".

I would like to remind everyone to respect other people's opinions and suggestions. If you feel that this isn't such a great idea, then please provide a reasonable argument as to why it is so.

Otherwise, saying that "this idea sucks; nobody cares; why go through the hassle?" without any reason can be considered spam.

On to the topic;

Even if it is generally outdated, I looked over the FAQ and Help Center again and realize that there are some things that can avoid legal troubles. In the About Us section under the General Disclaimer, I realize that it states that "Vizzed will remove any copyright violations upon request." It's not a cure-all nor is it a perfect statement, but it definitely helps a little. And there has been requests to have certain games removed and it has been done.

Well, I actually know that it's illegal.

But, it's also illegal to make a picture of Sonic and put it on deviant art due to copyright issues. Even if you aren't selling it. But, many game companies nowadays don't even make their games available, so, if Vizzed wants to dig them up, and make them available, promising to take them down if the original owners complain, then that's fine with me.

Most of the games that I play here I already own anyways, so.

Though I will try out some titles that I can't get a hold anyways here.

If Ninendo is trying to make money off of a game title, then I may buy it off of virtual channel, but then there's also to remember that Nintendo can just demand that Vizzed take any game they want off their list as well if they feel that it's going to cut their profits.

TetraDigm : We understand that things are outdated but we try to put updated information in the RGR Forum itself. A lot of information can be found there.

As far as the legal issues go, we understand fully. If you want to tell David this stuff directly. Feel free as he's the only one that really deals with that kind of stuff.

Feel free to register any other complaints you have either to him directly or myself.
