Hi

I'm just wondering if there is a way to url link to a specific post in a thread.  It would come in handy for my Sandwich making thread.

As I'm showing a graphic design of the sandwich being created, I'd rather just do it by editing one post, and directing people to the post the can see the Finished product.

So, yes, can you help?  How do I link to a specific post in a thread?

Just go on your profile, view posts, find the one you want, right click the link and select copy link url.
I imagine if you paste it in it should work.

That being said though, if you click reply in a thread, the thread makers original post shows up, so everyone could see the picture if you put it there, making a url unnecessary.

thenumberone : Thank you.  The other way I found was to find the post in the thread you want the url of.  Click on the "Link" section at the top right corner of your post.  That then puts the link url in the address bar, which you can then copy and paste into a separate post.

Now, is there a way to convert the url link into text like "Click here" , instead of the full hyperlink?

Just do what I showed you last time, put the link in the web address part and call it whatever yiu want.
You should make it ooen in a new tab too if you are going to link.

I think it's worth mentioning the post editor you're using.

If you're using the old post editor, the method that thenumberone has mentioned works very well.

But if you're using the new post editor, it might be easier to use the BBcode rather than the html one. Here's an example;

EDIT-

Hm, that's funny. I can't seem to get the code to work well. Oh well, it's basically this code without the periods.

[.url=https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=76879]Meatsim009's thread[./url]

The above code will turn into this when typed in the new post editor.

You can switch post editors by clicking on the reply button and click a green link that says either Switch to New Post Editor or Switch to Old Post Editor that can be found near the "Submit reply" and "Preview reply" buttons.
