I have been trying to get my body into great shape for many years now. I will start to work out for maybe a week to a month and then once again I am right back to my normal lazy habits. Well, I'm not exactly lazy but, I don't put in the work necessary to get what I want. I would try to stop drinking so many sodas, eating fast food, and being more active etc. Eventually though, it all goes down the drain and I'm right back where I started. I'm not over-weight or anything but I'm talking about getting a nice toned body so that I can feel good about my body. So what I need to know is how to get motivated and stay motivated! What are some suggestions that will help me get motivated and get it done?

Have you ever tried group training?

I find it's easier to stay fit when exercising in some sort of group. There's always this pressure to keep up with the pack and not fall behind.

It could be some sort of athletic team, if you feel that a sport will achieve your goals, or it could just be you and a few friends who go to the Gym at the same time and hold each other accountable for coming every day.

Perhaps wanting to spend more time with your friends might be a motivation in itself to go workout in that case.

Personally I become motivated by music. Sometimes I go jogging just to listen to a new album I've just gotten. Also, the type of exercise you do should be something that you like doing. I always lack motivation if I'm just doing something repetitive in a gym, but I like dancing and doing yoga. So my suggestion is that you try different forms of exercise until you find something that you really enjoy doing.
