Much of the staff already know this, but for the rest who don't know I'm in the Army. I've been stationed in Korea for a year. My unit is leaving. In 3 separate groups. Our first group left about a month ago and have been in the states since. I'm on the second. After 5 days worth of delays we're finally leaving. TODAY. We have a formation in an hour where upon we will be bussed to an Army airport probably, taking a commercial flight with wheels up at around 9:30 p.m. A nice 16 hour flight with a stop in Alaska before we head all the way down to crummy Ft.Hood, TX. We should be arriving at 1 in the morning. The brass over there want to have a welcoming back ceremony held. None of us want anything to do with a welcome. We just want to get our bags and either go home or find a place to live and that's that.

I'm letting you all know that it might be a few days before I get back online since I'll be busy trying to find a place to live and then I can set up internet. Keep the board going good, and if the airport in Alaska has Wi-Fi I'll log on here real quick to let guys know how it went so far. It'll be good to be home.

speaking of Korea... how did you like it? My wife is half Korean so she's lived there for a while at different times of her life. Did you learn a lot of Korean? Find any pretty Korean girls? Gonna marry an asian woman if you get the chance or are you the opposite and can't stand them anymore???

Korea is a nice country. It's great to visit, but I don't think I'd want to live here. As far as meeting Korean women I've met a couple of them. I was supposed to go on a date with one that I met online, but I got in trouble for something and was restricted to post that day. Never did get to see her.

Didn't learn a whole lot of Korean either. But it would have helped. There were times asking for information at stores and other places was next to impossible because of the language barrier.

yeah, I would like to visit... but I doubt I would want to live there either.

My wife tries to teach me Korean but it's hard to learn if you aren't surrounded by it and if you didn't spend tons of time off base then you probably wouldn't pick up much either.

It's got to be nice to be back though. I couldn't imagine being stationed out of the country. That would be tough.

After 8 days of waiting around for our plane and a 7 hour flight we touched down in Alaska. I nice to be in N. America again. It feels like I've been in Korea forever and at the same time it's just a large memory now. We have a 2 hour layover here before we take off to Ft. Hood. I think it might be another 4-5 hours to get there. So I'm sitting here just going through the internet. I'll probably watching some more Metroid Prime 2 speed run segments on Youtube in a little bit. I started playing the Trilogy on the Wii several days ago. It's as fun as I remember it being so long ago.
