Hey guys, I'd like to ask your opinion on the subject of Neo Geo games.

I'm brand new to Neo Geo, having learned about it just last year. Recently, I got a Neo Geo emulator, but then I realized I don't know that many Neo Geo games. Currently, I play only 2 Neo Geo games: League Bowling and Metal Slug.

League Bowling appealed to me greatly, as I love the sport of bowling. I bowl often in real life, and when I'm not at the lanes, I play bowling video games instead. (Yeah, I know, I'm a bowling nerd ) League Bowling is bright and colourful, and with funny animations and highly enjoyable gameplay, it's a blast for me to play.

I enjoyed playing Miniclip's Commando 2 since young, as it was a really well made shooter. If you've played it, you'll be able to tell that it is heavily inspired by Metal Slug, right down to the sound effects; so of course, I would learn about Metal Slug from others who noted its inspiration. I haven't actually played much of Metal Slug, but from what I have played, I find it an awesome shooter.

Other that these two, however, I don't actually know any other Neo Geo games. Can you guys recommend some good Neo Geo games to me? I really would like to get into the Neo Geo more, as it's a really interesting little(lies ) piece of tech. You can go ahead and recommend any game you like, but to make my preferences known, my favourite genres are Sports, Shooters and Beat-em-ups.

You have Metal Slug, then you already have the best game on the Neo Geo. The Neo Geo AES is a really neat console and you made a good choice by picking it to emulate (you couldn't do any worse than that Neo Geo X thing). I really hope you like Tournament Fighters because that is pretty much all the Neo Geo AES has. Most of the games on it are Neo Geo arcade ports from SNK and at the time Tournament Fighters was all the rage. The one game I do suggest looking at is Magician Lord. It is a very unique title on the console. It is a very solid platformer and a pack in game for the AES. Since it is an early title, it doesn't really push the console to the limit but still really fun.

Since we're on the topic of Neo Geo games, I mind as well "butt in".

Samurai Showdown- This game in my opinion is one of the finest SNK has to offer. Samurai Showdown is a traditional fighting style game with melee weapons in it. Personally, the best part of Samurai Showdown for me is that each character plays differently. This game also has POW bars (or rage bars whatever you want to call it) when charged up it delivers a terrifying and satisfying death blow to your opponent.

Sengoku- this game is bashed for being too boring but don't listen to the haters this game is awesome. This game is a Beat-em-up style with a "different kind of feature". This game has a bunch of weapons you can pick up from defeated enemies but that's not the only good feature this game has. When you progress later on in the game you will have to help various characters from death. Once you completed that you can now play that character for a short period of time.

Metal Slug 2-6- I saw that you liked Metal Slug the squeals are just as good as the original if not better.

Super Sidekicks 3- To be honest I hate sports games but I heard that this game is a solid sports title and it is worth checking out.

Shock Troopers-I LOVE this game, This game is like a top down version of Metal Slug but with better graphics and tons of weapon power ups. Not to mention that there are more than 5 playable characters and yes they play differently
