Well, I went on a walk while the sun was going down, and my bad knee decided to lock up, and it hurt like crap. I do not know why, but I think the cold weather is making it worse. - _ -

I don't need accountability because this stuff is a part of my natural schedule and I really enjoy fitness.  I did do 239 push ups for the birthday of my Marine Corps to celebrate every year we've been romping and stomping on this earth.  I'm less sore than I expected to be and that pleases me.

Now my coworkers are motivated and we're doing 50 push-ups every day (not all at the same time if need be) for a month.  That's 1,500 push-ups in a month.  Not bad if you ask me.  But it's been business as usually.  The winter months should make things interesting as I'm used to hitting about 60 miles a month on foot between walking my dog and running.  Cold mornings don't motivate me as much as the nice weather does.

Well, I found out what my disability rating is now that the VA is finally giving me something for my back and knee issues, but on my way to the library today, my knee buckled. It seems to be doing alright, now though.

I have been doing a lot of walking, and I plan on getting a personal trainer after I get back from my truck driving school.

thing1 : You have runners knee. I suggest you rest your leg and when you go back to cardio use non impact or low impact equipment like ellipticles. Or swim if you know how. I personally wouldn't do ellipticles, I just don't like them and they are just not as effective for cardio but they are great for people with skeletal pain or injuries. As always I would first go consult a health professional before working out again if the pain is really bad, this may be something worse than runners knee.

All aside this fitness accountability thingis great. I'm not going to lie, I skipped and didn't read most of the first page but it seems like at least not all of America has the couch potato syndrome. Fitness accountability to me means a lifestyle that keeps your body fit and healthy. Kudos to those who are like this.

TitaniumOxide : I don't have runners knee. XD I have nerve damage in my left knee thanks my herniated disc on my back. My right knee has structural damage from improperly putting weight on it.

Wow that sucks dude. I'm crossing my fingers nothing like this happens to me especially on my back. I have a bad disk that actually move to the right a little in my lower back and while that doesn't hurt, my muscle gets knotted (best way to describe it) and that can hurt like hell. Been living with it for a while, I hope it doesn't get worse.

I've been alternating 3 and 6 mile runs daily over the past week. (approx 31.5mi/week)

On the 3 mile run days I put in 30-45 minutes of intensive weight-lifting.

It's nice to see that this isn't tiring me that much at all.
It gives me confidence that I'll be able to step this up to 4 and 7... and eventually 5 and 8.

As of currently, I am trying to eat healthier and less. My medication is cause of my weight but it doesn't help that I was eating more junk food than healthy. I plan to start a routine to go walking everyday as well. I want to be as healthy as I can even if I can't loose as much weight as I want. At least I am trying to start to build a healthier life.

Well, after having the flu, and then over sleeping on Tuesday, I finally went and played soccer again today. We lost 6 - 5, but we went up early within about 10 minutes with a score of 2 - 0. I had an assist on the first goal, then I scored the 2nd goal on a nice tap. Other than that, I fielded a few passes nicely, and ran a lot more than usually. I was actually told my multiple people that i m getting better.

Over the past week I've been running every other day. I don't have any way of measuring distance but it's probably about 1 to 1.5 miles each time out taking about 15 to 20 min to do it. I'm not pushing myself really hard, but I'd like to get back to running a mile in under 6 min like I could in school if possible. I'm going to start alternating between running one day and push ups, sit ups, and similar stuff the next day here soon. My biggest issue is gradually working back into it, as I tend to want to give it all I can every single time, and end up over working the muscles. At that point I'm so sore I can't work out again for a few days and lose motivation.
This time will be different though XD

I've been trying to lose weight forever and even though I feel like I've achieved nothing over this year I have still lost around 18 pounds since starting to work out last spring. I didn't realize this until yesterday since I've been trying to avoid going on the scale so now I'm pretty excited! I've basically tried to eat more healthier and for 6 months I went to this women's exercising circle, which was lots of fun but since I don't own a car and the person I got a ride from isn't going there frequently anymore I decided to quit after this year. Instead I went to my local gym last Sunday and my arms are still hurting so bad that I can barely even type this message. Fortunately it'll be legs day next time I go so my arms have time to rest :-) My biggest motivation currently is probably My Fitness Pal, which is a site where you can save your daily progress such as what you've eaten and for how many hours you've exercised. It's also nice to see your friends' progress.

Is there anybody else trying to live more healthily? It would be nice to make this thread more active again.

It's been a long time since I've seen this thread. Surprised it's still around.

I'm trying to work out. I've been walking a lot more due to starting University, and getting a dog, so at least there is that.

thing1 : Walking is the best kind of exercise you can do on a daily basis I think. My fiance for instance walks back from work every day instead of taking the bus and he gets a good dose of exercise like that unlike I, haha. But I've done a lot of walking because of Pokemon Go. Not so much anymore because of the cold weather but I walked a lot during summer.

I've had minor setbacks during the past weekend because of insomnia, so my sleeping rhythm and eating habits have been a bit of a mess. I ate fast food the entire weekend simply because I was too tired to cook. Weekends are always the worst in my opinion. Even if I didn't have insomnia, on weekends it's so easy to eat junk food because you feel like you need a small break from cooking. I haven't done any exercising either but I look forward to going to the gym tomorrow. Then I'll have a week long break because of Christmas but I hope I'll continue working out in the year to come. Luckily I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas food so I won't overeat during the holidays.

Is anyone still doing this? It would be nice to see it active and it would be a chance for me to have another place to track my fitnessing as I go along. I am afraid it will end up being me posting over and over and repeating myself. I'm certain that's against the rules, even for a thread as important as this one, and I'd get scorched for it.

If anyone else is participating, let me know. We'll pump some life back into this thing.

Posting to keep this thread active. I'm hoping keeping this going we will have at least a few people motivated to exercise and keep track of their progress.

I've been trying to lose a kilo or two, and outside of my morning bodily exercises which worked quite well the past few months, I've started to jump 75 times each night in sessions of 15 jumps as well. How many jumps does it take to burn a calorie, and should I keep going or should I stick with just my morning bodily exercises?

...Yes, I know it may sound a bit silly.

An accountability thread! What a great idea! I'm already working on my weight, but I could really use the support and motivation. I've been dieting for about 7 months. I've lost 35 pounds. However, lately its been slowing down and I've been getting discouraged. All told I've lost 50 pounds in the last year but I'm dying to lose more. I weigh 244 and I'm trying to get down to 200. According to BMI I should weigh 165, but I don't know if that's possible given that I'm 5'9. I've been lazy lately, but before I got lazy a week or two ago, I was running two miles a day and doing an hour of yoga. If it keep it up, I'll eventually be able to do handstands. Also I want to run a 5K and I'm so close to being able to.
Norriegirl93 : I heard it actually does wonders if you at least get up for 5 minutes every hour. Perhaps you could add that into your lazy days? Though it sounds like you might already be doing so. Your regiment sounds neat.

Honestly, the only thing I need help with is eating better. I'm not sure that's accomplishable through motivation. I mostly eat bad food because that's what I was raised on. My taste buds kinda reject healthy stuff.
