I've been running 5.5 miles a day despite the hot, humid weather where I live.

This isn't quite up to where I was last year at this time, but it's been a good start.

I'm hoping to keep up with this routine and add on another 2.25 mi loop starting Monday.

So I'm not keeping up with the fitness exercise like I should... Been out with friends and looking for someone to hook up for a while, and sleeping. I gained two pounds (may not sound bad but when you're 19 and went from 170 to 200 in over a year since graduation... It's a problem.. ) I used to been fit and all, but been growing a gut and wow, looks so unattractive... I have been to the gym twice to work out with benching and cardio workouts. My leg was being a bit bothersome but persevered, until I couldn't run anymore. X)

Anyway, I can only jog about a mile until my leg starts irritating and my max benching, it went from (if I remember correctly from high school ) 275 to 200 ... 75 pound difference. T.T

So starting today I'm hitting the gym and try to get back to my physique I had in high school and get rid of the gut. No more excuses for me and if I do make one, someone shoot me please.

becerra95 :  It didn't take me long after graduating (from college) and getting married to gain about 40 pounds... so don't worry... you're not alone, and I completely know how it feels.  So far, my weight has been dancing around 180, and I can't seem to get it below.  I've been working out and eating better for a month or slightly over a month, so the only way I keep positive about it is by telling myself I'm gaining muscle.

And it MUST be true, so I'm hoping that in a few weeks I'll see the 170s again.  I think on that day, I'm gonna celebrate. haha!

I've got a slight gut too, though I hide it well.  I've heard it will be the last thing to go, which irritates me. XD

At least you can jog a mile though... geez.... I wish I could jog even half a mile!  And benching?  I doubt I could even do 50 pounds.    (I've never tried, but my legs have always been stronger than my arms.

Way to go with perseverance.... we can do it together!  I've found that making excuses is one of my biggest enemies.  If I make an excuse for even ONE day, it makes it all too easy to find an excuse the next day... and the next.  For this past month and a half..... I've made it my rule to never.... ever make an excuse.  When my bike got a flat, I jogged/walked.  If I'm feeling worn out from my day, I still push through and tell myself I'll relax the rest of the day.  Since my knee has been hurting, I make sure I at least -walk- 4 miles at a decent pace.... or now that my bike is back from the repair shop (I had to get a new gear shifter), I can bike because it's low impact for my knee.

If you need someone to push you, I'll be here!

On a positive note, I biked to work in 40 minutes today.... that's my record beat by about 10 minutes!  I was hyped!

I might consider that bike seat padding, since I'm getting tired of these butt cramps.

Despite not exercising nearly the whole week, I'm proud to say that I pedaled faster than normal today, making me sweat more. I'm also integrating some strength building on my arms; I want to be able to carry 50 lbs (or at the very least, 30 lbs) or something. I mean, I can probably (with difficulty) push or drag 50 lbs, but not carry anything near that much weight.

Starting with two days ago, I went for a jog and oy.... Serious strain on my left leg. I don't know how far I jogged but apparently I jogged for four hours (with the constant breaks and all because of my leg) and I was seriously dehydrated. So called my friend but he didn't pick me up until an hour later because he just woke up from his slumber (it was around 1 pm or something... Yeesh ) and we went to the gym for a light workout since I was fatigue...

Yesterday, did a little jog around the park to ease my muscles a bit, did some squatting with 200 lbs (used to been 550 until my leg got injured... Though I'm not sure since it's been three years since I squatted ) and it wore my thighs, knees and hips. Also done jumproping for 20 minutes and just relaxed the whole day.

Today I'm going to weigh myself to see if I'm doing any progress... If not well.... I'll tell you what I feel.

becerra95 :  I don't know about people that are more fit than me... but it sounds like you're over-exerting yourself?  (This might not be the case and I might be silly, since I've never been an athlete and have no way of knowing  what that's like.)

Can you expect progress so soon?

I know I've been working out (mostly) consistently for a month and a half (or so), and watching my calories... but I've only lost 5-8 pounds.  I've been stable for two weeks or more, which is frustrating. lol

Don't be disheartened!

I've been trying all of this week to get that mileage up. I didn't make any progress on Monday and Tuesday, and almost didn't run on Wednesday because of that. But I kept at it and managed to break six. Today I broke seven, and it feels great.

I'm starting with the intramural team tomorrow, and I finally feel ready for it.

Last two days.... Nothing.

Friday it was raining and couldn't do much other than indoor workout.. Pushups, pull ups, etc... But I wasn't feeling it so I was lazy all day...

Yesterday, cold weather and all... I was still too lazy to work out haha.

Kelli, this is when you threaten me about my excuses or something haha.

becerra95 : booooooo, I'm gonna jog to your place and kick your butt!!!!

As for me.... I finally got all the kinks in my bike worked out, so I've been biking daily again. I went for a jog/walk yesterday and it felt GREAT.  I can't do the rates that I was able to before my knee got injured, but I'm still stronger than I used to be. My knee is only hurting a little bit from yesterday's exercise.  That does bother me though.  How should I jog so that I don't injure my knee?

Anyways, I wish I didn't have a deadline that I'm struggling to meet. For the first time in forever.... I'm below 180!!!!! I want to scream and shout in joy!  I'm so happy!

I've been striving for more muscle lately. My plan currently has consisted of 100 situps and a one hour run every day. Every once so often I might pump some iron too - I can bench press up to 300 now. I've been trying to ramp up my exercises and see if that'll do me better. Haven't gotten any conclusive results yet but I'll just have to be patient.

Back to work. Okay so my ankle is doing well, little irritation but manageable.

Been working back in construction since last week and been getting like 6 hours of exercise. Every day I mostly dig and dig and oof, arms sore.

Yesterday was my day off so done laundry and got a haircut. Thought it would be nice walking to the barbershop and get a little exercise.

Well, I jogged from my trailer to the park, talked a friend, and then jogged back. My breathing didn't get too bad, but, my bad knee did get kind of uncomfortable. Maybe it is because of the weather, but I feel really good about this, especially since I have been extra lazy since I did a job like that.

Singelli : Just thought I'd ask if i could do your "June Challenge this month, Seems like a fun thing to do honestly.. And well i need to lose a lot of weight and get the motivation to do a lot of exercise as well...

I mean my thigh muscles are pretty huge as it is.. Thanks to 23 years of walking on my tiptoes... but heck.. It might make them slightly more toned i suppose.... get rid of some of that fat

Then after that I'd probably work on more cardio vascular stuff.. Perhaps get a cheap rowing machine and just row like crazy for a month

Well, I tried running again today, and my knee started hurting, so I walked back to the house and put my knee brace on. I tried running again, and I was still in pain. So, I managed to do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and about 50 squats in a half hour span. I am happy with that.

I had an IM Soccer Match at 6:30 today. I got a really nice workout. (But we lost =P)

I played midfield because of all the back and forth running it requires.

It's just the continuous start-and-stop motion that really tires me out.

*stretches * alright... I'm getting back on the bandwagon. I didn't completely fall off of it, but I did get a little lazy this past week.  I jogged and walked a few times, but that was pretty much the extent of my exercising.  However, I at least ate healthy enough that I maintained my weight.  As I wait for new of my job though... I want to start shedding weight again!

So I got back on my bike today after doing some research on how to better ride it.  And wow... little changes really do make a difference! Raising my seat gave me so much more leverage to work with, that biking this morning was in incredible breeze!

So as I get back into the run of things?  (ha!Get it? Get it?)
I'll be biking about 12 miles 3 days of the week (Because Thursday and Friday is this tutoring deal I have, and I get a ride).  I'm going to be doing Tapout 6 days a week (Lord willing!), and I'm going to jog / walk four miles ... several times a week. I'm not sure on that number though because it depends on a lot of factors. I know I will at LEAST do it once because my sister and I started this habit of jogging around a lake every Saturday.

Let's get in shape!

Well my exercising regime hasn't been great. I get most of my exercise throughout work, but since there hasn't been any work, lazy at bed (excuse... Kill me). Instead, I've been going to buffalo wild wings and playing disc golf (walking probably counts because at the college campus).

I'm going to try better today or something.... Lol

Today I completed 2 days of TapouT XT as well as jogged most of 4.1 miles.  I sweat a lot and my body is quite sore, but I'm also very proud of myself.  I've lost 16 pounds over 2.5-3 months, and I'm finally feel like the weight is coming off more effortlessly!  I started at my heaviest ever... and now I'm almost at the weight I maintained for most of the last 6 years.  I'd like to get below that however, and close to my high school weight. I haven't grown any, so it shouldn't be impossible, right?

I've been riding my bike to work most days, but today I had a flat tire that just couldn't be repaired.  Thus, I ended up jogging / walking it all the way to my house.  I ended up burning 3 times the calories that way, and only taking twice the amount of time.  I kind of wonder if I should just try jogging and walking to work from now on, assuming I get a job that allows me to do so.

I will say this though:  I was so glad the Tapout program today was yoga!  XD
