Step into the shoes of a fictional detective and his faithful companion to confront a real life killer.

In the Autumn of 1888 the city of London is plagued by horrific murders. What began as a simple, but gruesome murder in the district of Whitechapel has escalated into a reign of terror. Some unknown killer is preying on unfortunate women, in particular those who have turned to prostitution as their means of getting by. What is driving the killer to such horrific acts? And what is the connection between the victims?

Enter the famous Sherlock Holmes. The famous detective will be put to the test as he will need all of his powers of deduction and scientific knowledge in order to find a killer who shows no remorse, and dares to do what others would not even contemplate.

In this point and click game, you play as either Holmes or Watson depending on the stage of your investigation. The game is based very much on what really happened during the Jack the Ripper murders and many of the characters did in fact exist in real life, including several suspects. The bodies of the victims are examined in true to life locations of where the bodies were found, and close examination of them is required to proceed. After making your observation you will need to make a note of your findings, and true to Sherlock Holmes style, will be required to make your own deductions.

However the game also contains many puzzles that have no real connection to the case and are unlikely to have any historical basis. For example at one part Holmes is required to fix a gas leak, while another part involves investigating a group of charlatans who use corpses for fake séances. The game also involves chemical analysis and recreating the crime scenes to determine what actually happened.

Be mindful of any notes you pick up too, as many of them can offer insight into the killer's motives.

And after a thorough investigation and you have collected all the clues you must answer one final question: Who is Jack the Ripper?
