So I sent this woman I knew from years ago a friend request maybe a week or so ago on Facebook, along with a message reminding her of who I am.

I sent the request and the message because we've been talking for a bit on Instagram on our photos and I came across her Facebook on my People You May Know/Suggested Friends area (also explained this in what I sent her).

The message has NOT been read yet and the request is STILL pending, but I was able to tell she's been online without responding to me because I'm Facebook friends with her sister and she "liked" her sister's more recent photo.....I went to her sister's profile and it said "You and (Name Here) like this".....

I don't think that there's any way this woman could have known I like her that way. I have not even seen her in years!!!!

What's with this, honestly?

Maybe she's just busy... or she hasn't seen your friend request? Take me for example, I have a flood of friend requests that it becomes impossible for me to even check them one by one and accept or decline them... I don't really know how to answer this aside from advising you to either just wait for her reply a little bit longer or just let it be. Telling her in instagram about your friend request in facebook would also help. As for the exact reason, there's no way to find out unless you're willing to ask her straight about it.

What's the rush?  Why pressure a friend situation on Facebook?  She might think it's creepy and weird that you're already seemingly upset and unsure as to what's going on.  I know I think it's strange that you're reacting how you are.  She hasn't gotten to it yet.  Take a ride in the relax-y taxi.  She'll get there.  And if not, she doesn't want to be your Facebook friend.
