Hello, I've been playing bass and some guitard for a few years now, I have downloaded maney lessons from the internet on playing different styles and lessons on music theory. If any one wants to learn to play bass or guitard, I can give online begginers courses. I can also give advance bass lessons on scales and different playing techniques (tapping, slapping ect) but mostly theory. It wouldn't come tottaly from my head, don't worry, I have several lesson books I will use as guids. I'll charge a LITTLE viz, depending on the lesson.

(aka aolien) Ok an AWSOME scale too learn is one you can play in anytype of music... well it might not sound that great in bluegrass or counrty, but it sounds awsome (even for bass solos) in rock, metal, jazz and blues. And that man is... the Blues scale. Learn it, if you know the pentatonic minor it's alot like it. But you don't have to learn it. But ya the blues scale isn't only made for blues, any good bass player should know it. Hear I write it down for you here.

I would just like to say that all cool and smart people either like music, or play music. I like to play the bass guitar but play a regular guitar. I find if you play a regular guitar you can pretty much own a bass. My problem is i pick at the bass string with one finger instead of alternating.

I sued to find bass almost like guitar too. But the wasy you play is entierly different, there som much more theory to it. I play both, but bass is my true passion, it's so much funner to play.

False, you can play the bass, but you can't be a great. Your mind is already set for playing regular.

And michael... something is wrong with the way you make your scales. The notes should be inside of the roots.

It's light knight by the way. Sorry if the scales are hard to understand, but thats the way it is. That is the blues scale. And play the root "r" on whatever chord the song is currently in. And I agree with John about the guitar/bass relation. The way you play and the feeling it gives are tottaly different. But you can learn both well. It takes time but you can.
