juuldude : In Pokémon showdown, you put together a team of any Pokémon you choose, along with an item, moves, and stats for each.  Certain Pokémon and moves are banned from certain ladders.  For instance, swagger has been blanket banned for any Pokémon in the ou (overused) ladder as a result of being abused too much.  You can use pretty much anything in ubers, which is the ladder I usually play in.  There's even a hackmon ladder that let's you use Pokémon like missingno.  I guess you could think of it as Pokémon Stadium but browser based and more in depth.
