I found one walking in the grass when my dog was out to take a pee. I noticed it and thought it was hurt as it's front legs seemed to be missing, but I saw the mole claws and realized it was a mole cricket. I tried putting it back into a dirt patch to encourage it to dig, but when I went back to check (I was pretty interested) it was just resting there. I did research on how I could maybe keep it in captivity, but only found a bunch of pages regarding it as an omnivorous lawn destroying pest. I then decided it would be best to keep it out of my lawn, but I can't find info on how to keep it. I saw a page saying how to dig one out (found mine in the grass suckers ) but it only mentioned to put it in a prepared exotic pet terrarium. No info on how to prepare this. Anyone have a good idea? Note I trust you guys more than some biologic QA somewhere

Mecha Leo :

I would try to find out what they need to eat, and put it in a glass container, or glass jar with a lid complete with holes. Put other stuff in the container to give in a decent habitat.

You're probably right to not trust the "experts" I find that 50% of the time the title that they hold isn't worth the paper that they're written on.

You are probably going to be best off with a real bug/animal container though.

So yeah, have fun Leo!

Honestly, I am in position to be surprised by such a report.

Mecha Leo :

Honestly, I would think to consult a place like "that fish place, that pet place" or some LARGE pet store that carries bugs, maybe they can help you out in this situation.

EDIT: My first summon attempt........=D
