Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal were my favorite generation of Pokémon games when I was growing up. I loved the starters, the Johto region, and everything else about this game. When Heart Gold and Soul Silver came out, I was excited and couldn't wait to get them. However, I couldn't get my hands on a DS, and no DS emulators seemed to work correctly with HGSS, so I assumed I'd just have to keep playing the original games.

Then I found this Beta. I was a little skeptical at first, but it turned out to be a great remake. Going through the game felt like I was playing Crystal on my GBC again. The maps are exactly the same (with some graphics upgrades of course) and all the trainers have the right Pokémon at the right levels. The only issue I've had, and maybe it might be because I haven't updated, was that I can't seem to encounter any of the Pokémon that only come out at night (i.e. Hoothoot). 

All in all, I love this beta and I can't wait for it to be hopefully completed.
