Bought a platter of shrimp from the commissary (military grocery store) the other day, thawed it out am now eating it all. Or trying to. The stuff is delicious. It even comes with a big cup of cocktail sauce.

I've never seen anything like it. You just bought that from a grocery store all finished so all you had to do was defrost it??
Also, are shrimps the same as prawns?? Or do they just look alike.

Yes, all I had to do was defrost it. I love it. Put it in the fridge for a day and it's ready. I think prawns are similar to shrimp, but they're not the same thing.

Updated pics- 30 minutes later. I'm getting full already. My not so large stomach is filling up fast. I think I've eaten about half. I may have to call it quits until later. I'm not giving up just yet, though...

Dammit. This sucks. I've now made it my goal to finish this in one sitting. I'm at my limit, I'm now forcing the shrimp into my mouth. I've got about 30 shrimp left to eat and I'm so full that... I'm full. I really want to call it quits. It's getting the point where you had so much of something that just looking at it later on makes you feel queasy. I look at the shrimp and imagine them still alive, with their little legs kicking around at high speed. I can see where they had the stuff ripped from bodies through their back. I don't want to eat shrimp anymore after this.

I'm done, finally. I was starting to feel sick. I'm glad it's over now. I can say I ate a whole platter by myself. In 2 hours. But I'm up to my esophagus with the stuff. I don't want anymore shrimp. I don't want to see any more shrimp. I'm not sure how much came on the platter. Maybe 250 of the damn things. Doesn't matter. They're all in my stomach now, in one big collection of liquid goop smothered in stomach acid. I'm going out somewhere. Anywhere. I'm taking the bag with me to throw away the tails and plastic plate. I don't wanna see that crap again for a quite a while.

If anybody else has a live "food trial" they'd like share it would be cool. Then I don't have to feel alone in this.

LOL this is pretty neat thread I hate shrimp though but I'll eat tuna and some other fish like foods. And wow look at all those quarters you must have enough to buy another platter

I love fish and shrimp, but...... I have to be allergic to it. It happened at school i was eating fish sticks and then BAM! My throat started to close up.

Wow treecko how allergic are you?!?!? That sounds pretty bad... But how did you finish that whole platter by yourself, it was HUGE. You have my respect.

I finished it with a bit of suffering. The Force was strong with the shrimp. It took me a little under 2 hours to finish it all. They almost had me. I haven't eaten that much in long time. Yesterday, I ate a big blackberry cobbler in one of those big personal pan things by myself. The servings were for about 8 people. I didn't have much trouble finishing that, though. What I went through with the shrimp was hell. Had to take my mind off the food so I watched a random episode of Bleach while I went at it.

Half of the coins you see in the drawer are quarters and other US currency. The other currency is Korean- called "Won". The rate is about 1200 won to a US dollar.

Oh, I just created the text. That is actually a template for a CSI 4-panel comic. You wouldn't believe how many jokes of those there are. A lot of them are very funny.

Yeah? I could have. I was struggling very much after most of it was gone. The little things about the shrimp (i.e. the smell, goopy water on them,etc) were getting to me after a while.

They were already pre-cooked. And pre-peeled. All you have to do is grab 'em by the tail and pull them off. It would've been easier if I had a larger stomach.
